Totally Bad Experience

First of all, I would like to say that all the staff I spoke with were smiling and helpful. That was the high point of our visit.
We were there for three nights(because there was a convention in town and no where else to stay)in the middle of June. Got stuck on the elevators EVERY DAY. The elevators would travel up and down from the 12th floor to the first, but the doors would not open at the floors. You could hear the alarm bells in the elevators ringing all hours of the day and night where people were getting stuck. The room was not clean, there was broken glass on the carpet when we first came in. My sister had the repairman to her room every day to work on the air conditioner because it didn't work (90 degrees outside). We reserved a room with two double beds (reservations were made six months ahead of time). When we got there, they put my husband and I and our two teenage daughters in a room with one King Size bed, because "that was all they had available". There was no kind of continental breakfast available at all, and the prices in the hotel restaurant were horrendous: Almost $4 for a bagel and cream cheese or a bowl of cold cereal. I travel quite a bit and I have stayed in many Holiday Inns in many places over the years, and this is not what I have come to expect of them. This was not a Holiday Inn Express, but advertised as an upscale hotel. I can't ever remember having a worse experience at any hotel I have ever stayed at. I will never go back here.
