Boy what a rip off
By Joe, 8/22/10
First off paid wireless internet for a room costing over 100$/night makes no sense when Motel 6 has it. They were in the middle of construction so when I was trying to sleep in one morning the housekeeper started vacuuming the hallway at 8:00AM and then at 8:20AM the sound of power tools was right outside my window. Breakfast was OK, but having to wait in line for omlets and minimal selection made the 10$ price tag seem too much; I ended up going the next days to the Subway restaurant next door for breakfast. The shuttle ride that they recommended from the front desk cost 15$ from the airport (yes no free shuttle on a over 100$/night room), to get to the shuttle van I had to fight through the airport where I was giving wrong directions twice; then the drive to the hotel scared the heck out of me; hint if you have to stay here there is a lite rail in Seattle that costs 3$ each way, takes 30 minutes compared to the 45 minutes van (not including the 20 min waiting for the van), however it gets you within 4 blocks of the hotel, the stop is University station and to warn you it is uphill to get to the hotel so maybe stick with the van if you have a lot of luggage. The gym was OK, nothing special, but at least nothing was broken. The elevators was a pain, if you try to get on it during 'rush' times, then be prepared to wait 10-20 minutes, stopping on each floor. Once so many people tried to get on that the alarm went off, people were fighting so I just walked down the 15 flights of stairs.

Not bad, but could have better mattresses.
By Eincolorado, 5/24/09
The location of this hotel is good. Within walking distance of many places sights. Clean and neat, very helpful doormen, but the mattress and pillows left a lot to be desired. The mattress is not stable, if the other person rolls over, even just moves a limb, you'll feel it. Like we were on a boat. They give you a bag with an eye mask, earplugs, and linen spray to encourage better sleep, yet don't supply the most important item, a good mattress and pillows. If you want a nice breakfast, avoid this standard small hotel dining room. Walk around the corner and go to Tulio. Good service, calm elegant environment, great food.

Hotel Housekeeping Hooligans!
A camcorder was left in the room at checkout and a phone call about an hour later back to the hotel turned up no camera. Surprise, Surprise!. We had already passed loading and were on the Cruise Ship. They promised me they would look in to it. A week later when we checked back into the hotel nothing had been done to try and locate the camera. It took me prodding them to contact housekeeping and do a lock search of who had entered the room. No follow up to see if the camera had been taken to laundry and see if a camera had been found there. They followed up with a bogus concerned call about they had turned it over to their insurance company and if I had not heard from them by the end of that week to call them back and let them know so that he "could rattle some cages". Their insurance did call and let me know that it was not their problem by the states by-laws concerning hotel stays. Some one could have let me know that themselves instead of passing the buck. I filed a police report. If any of the staff is involved then I will see to it that justice will be done.

Great Experience
By atheling, 7/9/08
We stayed on the executive level, which provided many amenities such as "quiet zones", room safe, mini fridge, spectacular view, comfy beds, spacious room, and an executive lounge by which you could have complimentary evening hors d'oeuvres, continental breakfast, bottled water, and alcohol drinks (not complimentary). Staff was wonderful: courteous, helpful, efficient. That alone made this place a wonderful stay for us. Yes, the elevators were slow, but we were not in any hurry as this was a leisurely vacation. Whenever staff saw us waiting for an elevator, they offered us the use of the service elevator, which was an added courtesy. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, and would stay here again when I want to be in downtown Seattle again.

Typical Crowne Plaza experience
By mightypen, 11/9/07
I've stayed at a Crowne Plaza at LAX and now in downtown Seattle. It is my least favorite hotel chain. In Seattle, I got a room with no temperature control. It was a constant 65-degrees, not good when your battling a cold. Our convention was moved all around because their rooms were insufficient to accommodate our needs. The walls are paper thin, not great when you've been placed nextdoor to members of the hyper-active, chatty UCLA women's volleyball team. And they overcharged me for room service on my Visa bill. I could get into the LAX experience, but why bore you with the usual tragedy. Stay away.

Loved it!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/28/07
Got a room using priority points. Arrived at 3pm, an hour before check-in, but the staff was very accomadating and found us an available room right away. It had a great view of the Space Needle! The room was very clean and the beds were unreal! I wish I had one at home! I would most definitely stay again!!

YOU want to stay here!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/3/07
The room was large with a beautiful view. It was quiet, the service was superb... and the beds were the best beds we have EVER slept in, while away from home. (We enjoyed jazz in the bar, one evening, too.) It is a short walk to all shopping and Pike Place Market. We will be stay here, again! M. King, ID.

Horrible, never again
By Teresa, 10/6/06
We had booked our stay at this hotel 2 months in advance and requested an early check in. We were told that would not be a problem. When we arrived at the hotel we were told to come back in an hour to check in. Twice we were told to come back in an hour. After returning the second time we decided to just wait in the lobby and were ignored for 2 hours. At 4pm,(guarenteed check in time)we were finally allowed to have a room. The room smelled, the toilet wobbled and the bath floor tiles were loose. Corwne Plaza clearly couldn't care less about their guests. This, also, was not an isolated incindent. There was another group of guests waiting in the lobby praying that the hotel would grant them their reserved rooms, also. I would not stay there again if they paid me! What a joke.
