Bed bug clean

I didn't like checking into a dirty room, both beds unmade and a pizza box on the table. When I was moved to another room, which was supposed to have a view I was gazing into a tree. Not to mention the clogged tub, felt a little weird taking a bath and shower at the same time. Then as I proceeded to get my clothes ready for the next day the bottom of the iron fell out and it took until midnight to have it replaced. To top off such a great experience myself and everyone in my party whom stayed in other rooms were all attacked by bed bugs from head to toe, it's been 2 days and I'm still itching. Will not be staying there again.

Love it.

We have stayed in this hotel 4 times. I love it. It was very clean all 4 times we stayed there. The staff is friendly, and what makes it even better is that I can bring my small dog. I was even guest of the day on the last visit, and received free breakfast for my whole family all week.

Are you kidding?!?!?!?

we stayed July 4th weekend, nothing good to say. Expecting "Crowne" usual quality, we were very mistaken. Rooms weren't ready until 5:00 or later. Not enough linnens for the rooms they had filled, we went many times without proper amount of wash cloths. Wall paper is coming off the walls, carpet is lifting off the floor. The room we had there was an oder, but they couldn't move us because they were "full". Interesting enough, person behind me got "upgraded" from their room?! We bought airfreshner, determind this terrible experience with this hotel would not ruin our vacation! DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL IF YOU ARE EXPECTING CROWNE PLAZA QUALITY !!!!

Great!

I am a platinum member of this series, but this hotel is exceptional. We stayed three nights in this hotel. Very spacious and clean room. Housekeeping was ready at all times to serve us. The managers (Sam and Kathy) are intelligent and thoughtful with ready solutions at all times even for critical abrupt issues. The staff are welcoming and always smiling. Plenty of free accessible parking, two great swimming pools (indoor and outdoor), great Internet connectivity. All attractions are accessible. We spent great July 4th with the help of these guys. I am satisfied! Mohamed

great accommodations, great value

room was spotlessly clean, very nice decor, ample size with wonderful balcony overlooking wooded area. We preferred NOT to have housekeeping for a 3 day stay so we got an arm full of clean towels and extra coffee packets from housekeeping at beginning of stay. Room service was prompt, food was hot, price very reasonable. Spa at indoor pool clean and hot, refrig in room spacious. Check in easy and prompt-staff very very friendly, beds comfortable, room quiet. Hotel easy access to all local attractions-price terrific-so glad we stayed there - will definitely return for another stay

Wonderful visit!

We were nervous about the hotel after reading some of the other reviews. We are wondering if they really ever stayed there. When we arrived, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. They even upgraded us to a slightly larger room when they found out it was my husband's birthday. They also brought a birthday card and cake to our room! The room was very clean and comfortable. It was attractive and inviting. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept on in a hotel room. Another guest caused a fire alarm to go off at 4:00 am and the staff handled it in a very professional manner. They got us back to our rooms as quickly as they could after the fire department found that it was safe to return. We will definitely stay there again on our next visit to Williamsburg.

Would Choose Other Hotels In Area

It appears this hotel made an attempt at refurbishing its aging body; however, we were disappointed because: 1) The bed had some sort of small bugs (fleas, baby roaches?) 2) The food in the restaurant was almost inediable. 3) The dining room smelled of mold and humidity. 4) The management changed our room which was much better; however, the food and inconvenience was more than we wanted to deal with. 5) The front desk staff were not helpful and almost rude. 6) The room had not been thoroughly cleaned (bugs and dirt where floor meets wall ...especially at sliding door area) and under the chair was another guest's shoes. We probably won't stay there again and hope our conference is scheduled elsewhere next year. We do hope the management works on these issues because it is a centrally located hotel and has the potential to be very nice.

One of the best

I liked everything, I didn't want to leave. It was very close to main attractions. The only thing that I didn't like was that housekeeping tried to come in several times without knocking.

Not up to IHG standards!

This was the worst Crowne Plaza I have ever seen! The front desk person at check in was rude and made me wait while she socialzed with other employees. I had a smoking room with no ashtray and it took the staff over an hr to bring one. The wall paper was comeing off the walls. Blankets on both beds had wholes. The furniture was chipped and scratched and no efforts had been made to fix them. The toilet leaked and the bathtub stopper was nonexistant. I have a 3 yr old who does not like showers. The weather was changing and a storm had pushed a cold front through. This hotel is so old and has not been updated so you only either get heat or a/c depending on the time of yr. We only got a/c and no heat. I would never stay here or recomend this hotel to anyone!

Can't Wait To Stay Again...

We took a two day trip to Williamsburg for New Years Eve and had a wonderful time. The staff was very helpful in that they had no problem with an early check in, and were even considerate enough to deliver cookies and milk to the room as a New Years treat. The pool area was lovely and the gym small yet efficient. The rooms were very clean and the beds wonderfully comfortable. Lovely art on the walls, not the cheap and tacky paintings you find in most places.
