Good For The Price
By Daniel Russell, 2/17/11
We stopped here during a road trip from Florida to Washington D.C., just looking for a cheap but decent place to stay for a night. As a whole, I can't complain. The front desk was very polite and helpful, and the rooms were fine for a good night's sleep. The price was good too, but I can't say I was a big fan of the $15 roll away bed fee. That seems to be pretty standard, though.

We can't wait to leave.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/5/08
We stayed in our crappy, smelly room until 1 PM waiting for a football game to start. We left the room and passed the housekeeping cart and the housekeeper on the way out and she ignored the fact that we were out of the room and that he room needed cleaning. The room was not serviced and I had to go get my own towels. When we arrived back at the hotel late at night after dinner, there was no parking on the ground level. We had to park in overflow parking on the overflow level with the voices of the drunks in the background. When I went into the office to ask about it, I was told too bad, park at my own risk, and it's too bad if my car gets broken into. The hotel is charging three times the normal rate because it is parents' weekend in Harrisonburg for a flea bag hotel. This is not a choice hotel and we will never choose to stay here again. No customer service, no concern for the customers.

Bates Motel
By Patty, 11/13/06
Our room was in a total state of disrepair. We were stranded in Harrisonburg due to a car repair. We walked into the Econolodge pulling our luggage behind us. They would offer no discounts because of the Homecoming weekend. I could see them opening the room to us because of our dire need but to offer us this room at premium pricing was plain price gouging, and gouging it was. I have posted pictures on trip advisor and if could get pictures on this website, I'll post them. How many times have you rented a hotel room and felt the need to take pictures? There were no knobs for the dresser, the furniture had tears in it, paint peeling, a nasty rug wrapped around the "hot tub" that one would feel compelled to bleach before stepping foot into, filth around the baseboards in the bathroom, nasty cracking chaulking. Need I go on? If the room was offered to us because of our circumstances, I could see it for a reasonable price but to actually offer this room as a premium room? This needs to be checked into by the Econolodge Group because I for one, will never step foot in an Econolodge again.
