Best of the best.
By Right On, 8/31/11
We love Rutland, Vermont and we love the Comfort Inn. For the economy minded folks who want a great place at a down home reasonable price, this is the place to stay. It is close to everything, has a McDonald's around the corner, is close to the down town, and is served by a local bus company: 50 cents each for seniors. We took Amtrak from New York to Rutland: The Ethan Allen Express. Spent the night at the Comfort Inn (same hotel where the train folks stay) and stayed two days before going back to New York. Can't say enough about this little jewel. Indoor pool, friendly and helpful staff, and a buffet breakfast from 6 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Ate some toast at 6 a.m., took a short walk down town, and came back for the rest of my breakfast. The hostess, Emma Lee, was friendlier than anyone we have ever met and actually took time to tell us about some local places to visit. She called a taxi and in a few minutes we were on our way to the Marble Exhibits at Proctor. Never met this lady before.... and she did all this without our asking. Truly this is the place to stay when you are in Rutland.

A Second Home
By Zack, 8/10/10
My family comes to this hotel every year for our family reunion and there are many reasons. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean, and the price is great. The breakfasts in the morning are good and the pool is refreshing. The Ben and Jerry's across the parking lot is also a great plus in the evening. This hotel is very close to great restaurants, historic Rutland, ski resorts, and a stone's throw from the state fairgrounds. This gem of a hotel will be in my family's scrapbook for years to come, make it part of your Rutland experience too!

Excellent Get-Away Hotel!
By Bayley, 8/24/09
Wonderful attentive staff. Arrived during a cloud-burst and staff was extremely helpful. Maid service was excellent. Only problem (other than wet shoes) was comode backed up (because of the aforementioned cloud-burst), but at 2 AM the desk staff came within minutes of being called to fix the problem. No room service, but deliveries come up to the rooms instead of having to go to the front desk, as has happened in some establishments outside of Vermont. Didn't have to leave the hotel the entire weekend, which was the intent!

BestI Rutland
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/15/08
Having family in area, we have stayed at several motels in Rutland through the years. All the rest have had bad issues, of one form or other, ranging from food under beds, rust stains on towels, thin walls, having to fight for smoking room ( after being told there were smoking rooms ) to little hot water! Our recent stay ( Dec. 13,2008 ) was by far the best in Rutland. The cleanest we've stayed in theRutland area. The staff was great! Did have a couple of problems. One was handicap room on 3rd floor ( same floor as breakfast area ) and all the chairs in way from elevator to hallway door! Not enough electrical outlets. The wife and I do recommend it!!!

Poor, Unfriendly Service
By AngeliaV, 8/4/08
This was a basic hotel. Nothing too great. The worst part about our stay was the service. The breakfast closes @ 9:30AM and a staff member rudely told customers that it was closing and was practically forcing people out of the eating area. The Cleaning Staff were hovering outside our room from the time we went to breakfast. They grumbled everytime we came in or out of our room that we haven't left yet. I felt like they were saying Don't let the door hit you on the way out. Check out time was not till 11AM. Not somewhere I would ever stay again. Unfriendly staff. Ok Rooms. Cheap but that's about it. Nice Toaster to toast bagels, hot waffles. Hot tub was hot!!! That was a good thing! Overall Poor experience.

Great hotel, worth a stay!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/8/08
Likes: Staff was friendly, room was clean. Breakfast was great, they had waffles and ample choices of muffins, yogurt, cereal, juices and coffee, etc. Pool was nice, they also had a great jacuzzi that had very strong jets, awesome! Dislikes: Sauna was not working at the time of my visit. =( Sidenotes: There is a restaurant across from the hotel that has a great salad bar, highly recommend it. Overall, a great stay. I would try to get this hotel for under $70 for a deal. Enjoy this one!

Pleasant experience
By Irene, 5/12/07
The staff was outstanding, from the people at the desk to housekeeping & they were very accomodating & friendly. The continental breakfast was excellent. The location of the hotel is great The room was spacious & clean. We had a slight problem one night that was taken care of immediately by the manager. I will definitely stay there again.
