We stayed there a year ago. If it is as bad as some say then the same people who were running it aren't running it now. We enjoyed everything about it, especially the service.

People that wrote these reviews sound like they're expecting HoJo to be the Ritz Carlton. A hotel room at a HoJo is just a place to sleep & shower. If you expect to spend more time in your room - then pay for a better hotel.

Never Again!

First of all, the sink was rusty and paint was peeling off the walls. Drywall tape was hanging from the ceiling. When I got in the shower it creaked and bowed and felt like it was going to fall in. By the way, all the room had was a shower, no tub! The Air conditioning was intermittent and their high speed wireless connection was so weak that I kept losing my internet connection. The continental breakfast was adequate and the beds were ok. If you need to use the safe in your room it's another 1.50 so if you don't use it you have to tell them the next morning or you lose the buck fifty! All in all I expect a heck of a lot more for $100 dollars!!

Please be warned!

I am not lying when I say the staff are the rudest people ever. They act as if you are an inconvenience when you merely ask a simple question. I was staying here as part of a friend's wedding party so I didn't have to pay but it was so bad that I am writing a review, even though I didn't have to waste my own money on it. Please please please find another place to stay unless you want to be treated like crap!

Clean but not nice.

The hotel was clean but many blemishes. It needs to be updated and modernized. The location and affordabilty were good and this is what made the stay tolerable.

The hotel room that I stayed in was worn. The room was dimly lit. The weather stripping on the bottom of the entry door was pulled away from the door so no seal on the threshold. The staff was nice...

Pleasant Experience

The shuttle driver picked me up at the airport and provided a wealth of information about Salt Lake City and the recent growth in the city. He started my stay in a very good frame of mind. Everyone provided good service during my stay. The room was quite comfortable for my needs. The location proved to be very convenient to the Salt Palace Convention Center and to the new mall built on the site of the old train yard. The mall has good shops and restaurants. The shuttle driver started earlier than usual to get me to an early flight home providing me with a great last impression of my stay at Howard Johnson Express in Salt Lake City.
