Off Season Scam?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/30/09
My wife and I just had a great time there and truly loved the place. Cute, clean, homey, very reasonably-priced "off season," and perfectly located. We were planning on recommending it to all our friends and family and definitely going back again. But just today, well over a week after we left, the innkeeper suddenly called us out of the blue and said there had been a horrible toilet overflow plumbing problem in the suite we had stayed in. They now say they'll charge our credit card for for all kinds of repairs to floors and carpets -- and when we protested that we had absolutely nothing to do with it (we really didn't!), they mentioned bringing in lawyers. Needless to say, we'll dispute any repair charges they try to put on our credit card. But: Wow. What a pain.
So do go and enjoy the place, but be forewarned. I worry this may be something they do regularly.
