The worst visit I've ever had!

I made a reservation and was provided a confirmation number. When we arrived and attempted to check in, I was told they had no reservation under my name. I gave them my confirmation number and was told they still had no reservation. The staff was able to get me into an available room, however we did not get the bedding arrangement or room style I had originally booked. This was especially inconvenient since I had both of my children with me.
We checked in at about 3pm. From the very moment we got into our room and continually until past 11pm, there were numerous children running up and down all of the hallways, banging on the doors, yelling and being very disruptive. There were a large number of unsupervised children, as we later found out there was a large group of school kids staying at the hotel. This behavior of the kids was continual and on all three floors of the hotel, which affected other guest. I stepped into the hallway several times and asked them to quit, however it persisted. Not once did I see a hotel staff member try to fix this problem. Needless to say, we got to sleep at about midnight. In addition, my wife and I frequently base our stays on the hotel having a pool / jacuzzi. We attempted to use the jacuzzi several times, but every one of them was packed with kids being disruptive and infants. The posted hotel rules prohibit infants in the jacuzzi, however this was clearly not enforced. Due to this, we were unable to enjoy the jacuzzi or pool. We did not see any parental supervision and it looked like the parents / chaperones just let the kids run around rather than provide supervision, be responsible and have some respect for other guest.
The following morning, I spoke with the front desk staff and expressed my dissatisfaction. I was told that there was a school group there and that the hotel as aware of the problem. They told me they spoke with the parents several times, but the parents didnt fix the problem. They said they also tried to call several of the rooms to contact parents, but received no answer. They said they even had extra staff on to try and reduce the problem. I told them I wished they had informed us of the large school group when we checked in, in which case I would have booked at another location. This would have been the courteous thing to do, especially since it was a very large number of kids. The appropriate thing to do would have been for the hotel staff to ask the disruptive guest to leave rather than let other guest be effected by this, especially since they were aware of the problem and got no cooperation from them in resolving it. I know several other guests were bothered by this as several of them commented about the same problems we experienced as we were standing in the check out line. It was very inconsiderate to other guest and unprofessional to allow the group to stay, especially since the hotel was aware of the problem and did not get any cooperation from the parents in correcting it.
