Will never stay there again

My wife and I visit Carmel one and sometimes two times yearly. We go without reservations. In May on our first day's walk, we came upon the hotel. It looked to be more expensive than what we could afford, but I decided to check anyway. I asked for the prices and was informed that they ranged from $250 to $450 per night. I offered to pay $150 for one night. Following a negative response, I asked if they would accept that daily rate for two nights. I received an affirmative reply. The person at the desk showed us one room which we accepted. Upon departure the bill indicated a daily rate of $200. We objected and told the person what had been agreed. She (Diane) demanded that I sign the credit card recipt and invoice, which I did "under protest", which was clearly noted on both forms. After submitting a complaint to my credit card company, with full details, the hotel refused to adjust the bill to what we had verbally agreed. My credit card company reimbursed me for the overcharge. I suggest that you be sure to get everything in writing from this establishment.
