Depends on what you're here for...

The Loma Vista is a condo complex that got built way the heck out of town on cheap land about 20 years ago and they are still trying to sell all the units -- some are therefore up for short term stays.
You pay for your entire stay upon arrival, so if you don't like it...kinda tough. These places are clean and spacious, well-kept, pretty quiet. A fair value but the Loma Vista is 'way out in the burbs...or maybe the 'hood. The entrance is actually on Martin Luther King Boulevard, but I guess they don't want to tell you that. Some of the surrounding neighborhoods are a little depressing.
We came for outdoor rec out in Red Rocks, and it's at least 45 minutes from the Loma Vista to the west end of LV, by freeway. About 15-20 minutes to the Strip. Not close to much of anything except strip malls and the North LV airport, although there is a Starbucks on the corner.
The office says open 9-5, but there is usually no one there. If you need anything, or get locked out (see below re gate...) plan on fending for yourself. Rooms are cleaned only when you leave, so if you like maid service, this isn't the place. Ample towels, good kitchen, your own laundry...but no cleaning supplies. Bring your own sponge, I guess.
Umm..OK, a little more truth in advertising: the pool is small, unheated and freezing cold. The hot tub you could boil lobsters in. No wireless or internet. The car gate works...sometimes. After you get locked out you discover that the sidewalk pedestrian gates are always open. Place seemed safe enough, though.
Furniture is inappropriate for small children (glass tables with sharp pointed iron feet on everything...). No cribs or high chairs. (We recommend mommyrents.com...) No playground or nearby parks or rec.
This place is nicer than many of the older or cheaper hotels and if it was located more centrally, I would recommend it highly for comfort, space and price. So I guess it depends on what you're in LV for, and how pushed you are for time.
