Silken Diagonal Barcelona, Barcelona

The cruise line we were on booked us into the Diagonal after our Mediterranean cruise. We wanted to stay for a day and see some sights in Barcelona. We checked in very early and they had a room ready for us. The concierge was very helpful and attentive. He even suggested and showed us how to ride the city tour bus loop that ran right in front of the hotel. Our room was clean, comfortable, and very chic!! The Torre AGBAR was right outside our window. The bar, restaurant and sandwich shop were all very pleasant. The complimentary breakfast was exceptionally good. I would recommend it to others, and I would not hesitate to stay there next time we're in Town. Two thumbs up!

Buses, tram and metro runs just nearby. Quite a lot of noise from builiding sites and from other hotel rooms when using the electric curtains. Remarcably good breakfast. Receptionists were very helpful and their english was satisfying. Splendid wiev from the roof. The pool was very small and not temperated.

It is a very modern hotel, with a swimming pool on top of the hotel. You can have an awesome view to the sea and over the city. The breakfast was excellent. The rooms have two phones from Bang&Olufsen, a flat screen TV and you could open and close the blinds electically. If I�m going to Barcelona again, I would stay in this hotel again!

The hotel is a Silken designer-looking hotel with funky interiors. However the maintenance isn't great and we found the two reading lamps by the bedside missing. Bathroom is a bit small, with the bathtub visible from the bed through a glass wall. The hotel is fitted with black/blue light both outside the window and in the corridors, and at night you have to make sure the window shades are all the way down so that the blue light doesn't come through the window. Location is right next to the Torre Agbar, which in my mind is an eyesore in a beautiful city like Barcelona. The hotel is a bit out of the way from city center, but close to La Sagrada Familia and there is a Metro station next to the hotel, so public transport is not an issue.
