Do not recommended
By ,
Been a native of Dominican Republic I was extremely disappointed with the food and the resort itself. I went there with my family and most of us got sick. The resort hardly offered any traditional food that is prominent within the dominican culture. Their is no type of diversity. Most of the people in the resort were caucasians, old and boring. The night blub was extremely boring. If you are caucasian, old and boring I would recommend this resort. However, if you are young and looking forward to have fun and a wonderful time I would NOT recommend it. It is a waste of money, time and energy. I would rather recommend going to Grand Oasis located in Punta Cana for a next trip.

horrendous!!!
By ,
this was really an awful hotel. no customer service or management. the food tastes the same no matter what you eat. the only edible food was in the hibachi rest. you have to be there quite eary to get a seat. the lobby bar is like sitting in the student union at a university. that god we were with a group on business as a bit of a diversion. the area is frightening. they basically hold you captive when you pay your bill or complain. anyone can charge to any room. we had people with charges they disputed anfd they would not let them leave until they paid[ 300.00 and 600.00 charges for wine] Some of this wine was consumed, but not that much...they dont care. They ran out of decent liquor every night....HORRIBLE

worst ever...

If you booked a trip to Dreams Punta Cana just cancel it! We spent a week been there, got sick with stomach bacteria. You will get a diarrhea and fever. We had bags and lizards in a room even we’ve been on a 3 floor. We met a lot of people with the same problems. They are trying to save on everything( food, drinks, lights, energy, even a on cleaning personnel) The fruit flies and flies are everywhere. This is horrible! I paid $2000.00 for service like this! There are only 4 restaurants NOT 7-8 like it said in a ads and not inaf to eat. Also the ceiling in a major restaurant World’s café is leaking. My advise for you DON’T go there and ruin your vacation. Don't drink bottles of "Punta Cana" water just drink small bottles of soda or beer prodused in USA or tea coffee.

Beautiful Resort -- BUT----
By ,
My family and friends visited here 14/04/07 to 22/04/07 for my son's wedding. Resort is beautiful and the wedding was very nice and extremely efficient. Hoevever !!! DO NOT go there expecting to get your hair done - or Makeup for an event! The hairdresser cannot speak English, supplies VERY limited - not a good experience for the bride. The food is OK - Dreams Restaurant - exceptional, they did an amazing job for the reception!and our last night there. We had an unfortunate experience of theft in the room - LOCK ALL VALUABLES IN THE SAFE!Found the whole Punta Cana thing way too isolated, every place is far way. Can only go places via excursions. We did not really feel comfortable. BIGGEST complaint however is the fact we had 2 elderly people needing assistance - 2 wheelchairs on site, MUST pay $400 deposit + $10 day - What kind of resort expects handicapped people to pay to use their resort. Disgusting concept. Won't Return

Sick Sick Sick
By ,
We returned Jan 3, 2009, and would never go back again. Four out of five of us got sick with vomiting and diarepha and could not leave the room. The hallway smelt of vomit. Every other person we spoke to also had the same stomach virus although the hotel never admitted to having a problem until the end of our vacation it was then that the staff told us that they brought in specialist to help with the problem. The food was terrible poor quality and not fresh. The staff at times didn't want to be bothered. The TV remotes didn't work, there was a sewage smell coming out of the bathroom. Although the grounds, pool and weather were beautiful we could not enjoy it because of the sickness. I would never return to Dreams Puna Cana again.

First and last visit
By ,
Our room was beautiful, clean and neat, poolside. The pool and beach were wonderful as was the weather. However the food was not so good, the buffet was good and the service was excellant there. However at the Oceana the service was terriable with us being totally ignored and not getting served. The Mexican restaurant's food was awful and service was marginal. Our trip was spoiled half way through with one or the other of us being sick the rest of our stay. Not a pleasant experience, being stuck in the room or at least close to it.

Wouldn't Recommend unless Family Trip
By ,
I'm just going to list negatives: -Two distinct sides with different quality treatment and rooms -Inattentive and lazy staff. A visitor died during my visit and I was witness to the lack of organization or responsibility. Actually saw two staff members bickering over who had to get the rescue boat. -watered down, disgustingly sweet, minimal alcohol drinks - tolerable food - Hibachi table chef who cooked like chinese-takeout - Served last if Dominican and only after you say something. -Towels were gone by 11AM most days -Maid left cigarette butt in bathroom -Maid never refilled things like washcloths and hand towels. Then tried to break into room when chain locked (we were napping) to clean. -Disco... don't get me started. Same music every night, even repeats 2-3 times in same night... Wouldn't be so bad except that its all old music and like maybe 25 songs. - positives: -spa had great jacuzzi -french restaraunt was more what i expected the entire experience to be - "Mamajuana" drink has ALOT of alcohol -King Size bed -Beautiful grounds -Pretty flamingo pond

Hope you don't like to eat.....
By ,
We were disappointed with out stay. Pool was to close at 8 but they would close at 6 with no reason why. Food was like home town buffet. Drinks were never consistent from bar to bar. They have a japanese steakhouse that accepts "no reservations" but you basically had to check back 5 times to see if you could be fit in for the night. The staff was nice, but i would have NO desire to return back.

a week of relaxation
By ,
it was a great place to spend time away from our routine life! It is a setting for everyone - family reunion including grannies and kids, for the young lovers, for groups of friends enjoying their drinks in the pool, and for a get together for me and my daughter. I appreciate the Sunday mass service arranged at the resort. I thoroughly enjoyed the place!
