Harbor House Inn, Santa Barbara

I stayed in a beautiful studio with a kitchen and large bathroom. There was a huge "welcome basket" full of goodies for us in the kitchen, juices, bannana bread, fruit, biscotti (all complementary) and bathroom was well stocked with thoughtful amenities like a sewing kit and makeup remover wipes (I wear a lot of makeup, and these came in so handy for me on my trip!) Upon checking in, I was offered complementary movie rentals, informed about complementary beach cruisers, and beach supplies at my disposal. This hotel is a block from the beach, and very close to all the State street action, and it is apparent how hard they were working to get my business. This hotel was affordable, clean, and filled with extra special touches that will make it my Santa Barbara home away from home!

First off I would like to comment on the other review claiming poor service with their pets. I brought my pet (a well behaved dog) and asked the staff if I could leave the dog in the room while I went out to grab a bite to eat and just left my cell number. The woman with complaints shouldn't have brought barking poorly behaved dogs if she wasn't going to be there to watch them. I believe there is new staff because I didn't meet any men that worked there, but the three women I did meet were just charming and polite. The rooms are like a slive of home, comfortable, affordable and charming-and very clean! Best motel in Santa Barbara hands down!

This is the best motel I have ever stayed in. The rooms are charming the staff friendly, helpful etc. the nearby restaurants are some of the best in Santa Barbara. And to top it off, the price is "oh so reasonable".

To all potential guests with pets: This place claims to be pet friendly, but in actuality they are not. The hotel rep. mentioned on our arrival that our pets were not to be "left unattended." We assumed (never assume) that it meant they are not be left unleashed or loose on the property. We left for dinner for an hour and a half and came back to a very rude hotel rep. confronting us at our hotel room door on how our dogs have been barking since we left. First of all, we misunderstood, but he never gave us slack for this. Second of all, we have stayed in many places and have never had an issue leaving our dogs caged in our room. Third of all, he entered our room, which probably made them bark more. We then had to leave them in our car when we attended the wedding we came to enjoy because they were no more vacant hotels at the lasy minute that took pets. My husband and I would never try to disrepect anyone or any place we stay. I have never wrote a negative review until now.
