Bel Abri Napa Valley Inn, Napa

My boyfriend and I took our first vacation/trip here, and we had the most amazing time. The inn is located nearby downtown Napa, which is very convenient. The bed was so cozy, and it was so nice having breakfast served to us in our room. That was one less meal we had to go out and buy. The room/bathroom were set up to be very romantic. We had a patio room, which also had a fireplace. Sooooo romantic. The staff was very helpful and friendly. In the lobby they had binders full of nearby resturants and menus to make your life easier. And the wine and cheese tasting in the evenings were really great. I hope we can go back on our next trip to Napa. Be sure to ask the person at the front desk for maps and coupons to some of the wineries on the Silverado Trail. Happy traveling!

The breakfasts were cold; the hair dryer cord was so short I had to bend down to dry hair-could not style it; side of building we were on was extremely noisy-had to keep window open to keep from roasting and night noise was terrible; bed was very nice and comfortable; jacuzzi tub was very nice, but overall I was very disappointed.

Mary Alice, the manager was the bomb-diggity. She hooked a playa up with a great room and made dinner reservations and threw in a free appy at a local Italian eatery. The wine and cheese was okay-but noboby really showed up. The room was clean and spacious and the location was easy to find. "Bel Abri"-French for clean, affordable and soft rooms. Stay again-most def! 4 stars for Mary Alice the manager and Bel Albri!!! Steeler Tom and Wife Jen.

My husband and I stayed for 6 nights in May 2007 and loved it. Our room was beautiful and clean, and breakfast served in our room each morning was wonderful! You have a coffee maker in your room, and when we asked to have some additional regular coffee, the maid brought several packets immediately!! This hotel does not have a view of the vineyards however, if you are looking for a hotel that is convenient to both Sonoma and Napa vineyards this is a great location as it is right at the junction of 29. Each morning my husband and I walked into town prior to breakfast and it was great. There are things to do in town, restaurants, ice cream, shopping etc. Each evening they have cheese and wine, with nice selections each night. Great time to meet some other fellow wine lovers, find out where they've been. Staff will make dinner reservations for you as well, which was convenient. We would stay here again, and recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

My mother and I stayed at the Bel Abri in Napa for 3 nights. It was a nice experience, rooms were very clean and were decorated nicely. You are served breakfast right to you room (you can choose 3 choices,and the choices were different for the days we were there.) which was a really nice touch, but if you have a big appetite you would probably still be hungry. The food wasn't horrible but some of the choices were probably something they got at Costco (it was good enough). There's also a nice wine and cheese reception in the early evening. The location of the hotel is pretty much right off the highway (although you couldn't see or hear it). When you think of Napa you may think of a view of beautiful vineyards, this hotel had no view (only of a car shop across the street, depending on which room you're in), so if you want to stay in a place with a view I would stay in the other smaller towns of Napa. Bel Abri was very close to the shopping outlet though, as well as the Older downtown Napa, which I don't know if it was the time of year we went, but it didn't seem like much was going on in this older downtown Napa. I wouldn't call Bel Abri a hotel it's more like a B&B. There wasn't really a STAFF (no one carries your luggage, although they do have that bag trolley that you can use and there is an elevator), because you really only deal with 1 person (that I saw), a woman in the lobby who checks you in and I think does everything else (there are housekeepers but they don't speak much English). But the staff that I did come in contact with were friendly, they smiled. HERE'S THE ONLY THING I HAD A PROBLEM WITH: THE LADY IN THE FRONT GOES HOME IN THE EVENING, WHICH MEANS NO ONE (STAFF WISE) IS AT THE HOTEL! THEY GIVE YOU THE SLIDE CARD FOR YOUR ROOM THAT ALSO WORKS AT THE MAIN ENTRANCE OF THE BEL ABRI SO THAT WHEN EVERYONE GOES HOME YOU CAN USE YOUR SLIDE CARD TO GET IN. I DIDN'T SEE ANY SECURITY EITHER AND YOUR CARS ARE NOT UNDER A GARAGE IT'S PRETTY MUCH OUT IN THE OPEN. THEY DO GIVE YOU AN EMERGECY # TO CALL IF ANYTHING HAPPENS, AND I THINK THE LADY SAID THAT THERE WAS SOMEONE FROM THE HOTEL NOT TOO FAR AWAY SO THEY COULD BE THERE QUICKLY. MAYBE IT WOULDN'T HAVE BOTHERED ME SO MUCH IF I WAS TRAVELING WITH A MALE COMPANION BUT IT WAS JUST THE TWO OF US (2 FEMALES). I DIDN'T FEEL LIKE IT WAS IN A BAD PART OF TOWN BUT WHEN YOU DON'T KNOW THE AREA YOU JUST WANT TO BE EXTRA CAREFUL AND SO I WOULD HAVE JUST FELT SAFER IF SOMEONE FROM THE HOTEL WAS THERE. Other than that I enjoyed my stay.

We checked in during the wine and cheese tasting and indulged ourselves before going to dinner. The room was great, eventhough we ended up in a handicap room. (They let us know that it was a "walk-in shower"). The room was great although it was next to a busy corner, but turning on the fan during the night blocked out the traffic. I didn't want to get up in the morning because the bed was so comfortable, but we had a wonderful breakfast delivered right to our room and got to sit at the table next to the patio doors and the fireplace. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a very nice place to stay at a comfortable price. Well worth every penny!!!!
