an atrocious "resort"
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/2/08
We arrived to the affects of Hurrican Gustav that was well on it's way but were reassured by management that it was just a typical Florida, afternoon shower and we would have an 80% chance of seeing the sunset. We arrived to an unlocked room only to find black scuff marks on the walls, dented in window frames, a "King" bed that we had been upgraded to actually being two twin beds pushed together, a 1/2 inch space in our shut and locked front door that allowed us to see outside and a sour stench in the dank room. Needless to say the photos from online and the brochure made the above look like a pricey resort.
Only two hours after we arrived we received an emergency phone call causing us to leave. We explained to management about the emergency accident but were told we could be offered no full or partial refund or reimbursement. Not to mention one of the occasions I attempted to defend my right to a refund I was hung up on.
Shortly before we left, we overheard the same manager who told us about our glorious sunset chances, tell another couple there was a huge storm coming.
On our way out of the island my car nearly died due to ridiculous flooding that submerged the road in 3 different locations.
Rude management staff, overpriced for what they offer, gross rooms.
