Not a good bet for light sleepers

This hotel was indeed beautiful, and its location near Merced is great. But it is also extremely noisy -- fireworks in the morning on saints days, as well as the church bells make sleeping a challenge. Additionally, the courtyard rooms suffer from being right next to the restaurant -- the week we were there there was a big group in the hotel and they were very noisy. It was hard not to hear every word. There are some rooms behind the hotel. If you're a light sleeper, make sure you get one of them, or go elsewhere.

Great Wedding Weekend!!!!

I loved the friendliness and professionalism of the staff, not a bad apple among them. From the owner to the wait staff to the guy who opens the door at two a.m. for happy revelers from the wedding party - it is a total class act! I also liked the central location, you are close to the center of everything or a block or two away. It's not the fanciest place but I prefer good service and the "feel-at-home" vibes to "fancy" any day. I can't think of one complaint, either I'm a wimp or I'm still hungover from the wedding the night before. Can't wait to go back!!!
