Gets worse and worse
By Southaven Resident, 04/29/09
Second time here in the last 5 months. Things have only gotten worse. While using my PC the first night, I stretched out my feet under the desk and "discovered" several pieces of food under the desk! NOT crumbs mind you - CHUNKS! It was clear that they half-assed the vacuuming. The floor in the bathroom was not much better with a chunk of something on the floor. As for the condition of the room, you can tell its been worn down. Either that or Motley Crue stayed here during their last trip through town. The desk legs are all loose and wobbly. The suitcase bench is the same way. The lamp on the desk looks like it could fall apart any second. The shower handle felt like it was about to come off. The battery cover on the TV remote was missing allowing the battery to stay loose. I had to hold my pinkie on the battery while changing channels. The exercise bicycle in the exercise room is broke so you couldn't add tension - it pretty much freewheels when pedaling. This was broke when I stayed 5 months ago and complained then. One of the two treadmills is now broke too. I called the front desk to report this from the exercise room and the response I got from the person at the front desk? "I just got here." I'm not sure what the heck this has to do with broken equipment but it may be symptomatic of the lack of care for the property. I figured I would do some exercise in my room instead since the other treadmill was in use and there is no other equipment in the "exercise" room. While doing pushups in my room, I happened to look under the couch and noticed a bunch of garbage underneath! The breakfast bar was no better. No fresh fruit. Very limited choices. You'd be better off going somewhere else for breakfast. Unless otherwise avoidable, I won't be back. This hotel appears to have seen its prime in 2005 but has declined in the last few years with little investment being put back into the property for repairs and maintenance. They don't make up for worn out rooms with service or amenities either. VERY disappointing. I expect more out of Holiday Inn.

Overrated

After spending $125, I was mad. The rooms were not up to standards and the staff were horrible. I found roaches in my room. When I complained, the staff just laughed at me. I got my refund and went to the Quality Inn where they treated me right.

Will not get what you pay for!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/23/07
This hotel looks new, which is why we stayed here in the first place, but dont judge a book by its cover. The front desk clerk was not curteous at all, we had to stand there and wait until she was off her cell phone to rent the room. We paid about $100 for our room but it was not worth it at all. when we went in the room, it smelled terrible like the carpet was moldy. When we asked for a different room, she moved me to a smoking room when I had asked for a non-smoking. I asked her if she could bring me the key to a different room because of my back problems I was not able to go up and down the stairs, but she said she was not allowed to leave her office. We ended up leaving and staying in another wonderful hotel a little further down.

A BABY-FRIENDLY PLACE :)
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/08/07
Our stay with our 8 month old grandbaby was a pleasure. We were apprehensive about what a motel/hotel crib would look like, but when we got there and saw it in the room, it was excellent. It was white metal, clean, a nice little mattress covered with a thick fitted sheet, and lovely little blankets (2) for baby. The room was very clean, excellent carpet and towels and bathroom, just nothing to complain about. Staff were friendly, especially the breakfast bar ladies. The items were varied and delicious and the coffee and juice delicious. Just couldn't ask for better. Our relative is in Magnolia, and we can attest that Magnolia prior to this place was in dire need for a new and nice hotel/motel.

THANK YOU
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/11/05
We evacuated from Hurricane Rita and went first to Hot Springs and then Magnolia when accomodations became available. The staff at this hotel was excellent and tried in every way to help make our stay both comfortable and enjoyable. Even when we had to extend our stay past the dates our reservations were originally for, the staff still went out of their way to help us. They even helped us find a kennel for the dog we had with us.

The Best Hotel Stay Ever
By Jen, 10/03/05
For my wedding, my whole family and wedding party stayed at this hotel. The staff went out of their way to make our stay wonderful. We held my last wedding shower in the conference room, and the manager helped us set up and even made cookies as a surprise. There is also an indoor pool, a work out room, and wonderful cinnamon buns at the continental breakfast. I would definately recommend this hotel.

Hurricane Rite Evacuee's
By Julie, 09/28/05
Our family's had to get out of Louisiana because of Rita. Tired from the long bumper to bumper traffic, we found ourselfs in Magnolia, AR. The Holiday Inn only had room for one night so we took it. The front desk staff went out of their way and found us rooms at a sister hotel for the rest of our stay. Hat's Off to the Staff! Many Many Thanks!!

Suprisingly wonderful hotel for a small town
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/06/05
Staff went out of their way to be helpful. We were looking for things to do with our family in the area and spoke to the manager. He went so far as to print out area attractions and movie times with maps from internet, not just for that town, but also for our next day in Little Rock. Professional and courteous staff with a small town charm. Elegantly decorated hotel that is very comfortable. A step above our usual Holiday Inn experience, we will be back.

Can't wait to go back!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/15/05
The service was excellent, the room was very comfortable and very clean!! The location is excellent; right by main freeway intersection coming to town, and just across the road from a shopping center with grocery store. Delicious foods at the breakfast bar. I would highly recommend this hotel!!!
