Plantation Suites and Conference, Port Aransas

We just returned from a week-long stay at the Plantation. It was very nice and clean, and the manager and employees were very friendly and helpful - the price for the two of us was quite reasonable They've got a very well-heated outdoor pool and hot tub, but the outdoor air was so chilly while we were there that we didn't use them. They serve a reasonably good complimentary breakfast every morning with one hot dish; the problem was that the breakfast room is too small to accommodate everyone that comes in and we frequently had trouble finding a table. Secondly, they seemed to have trouble keeping up with the guests' appetites and often ran out of the hot dish - though they did come back and refill it. They do have WIFI internet service in the rooms and it worked fairly well - a litttle slow sometimes, but mine does at home, too. My biggest complaint - and it's strictly personal - was that the beds were too soft for my bad back. I'm used to a very firm bed, and these were too soft for me - but they were of good quality, and I realize I'm probably in the minority. All in all, it IS a very nice place, and while I may be putting in more negatives than I should, it was a good place to stay, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Although this was just a short weekend trip for the 2 of us(Dec.07), this motel fit our needs just fine. We had a king suite (great price), the room was reasonably clean for the age(can't help but have sand on the tile floors), the staff was nice, plenty of breakfast items to choose from and it was just a couple minutes drive to beach, shopping and restaurants.

09/14/2007 The Hotel was very nice and clean. The rooms had enough space for our family of five. This is our first time at staying at Plantation Suites, all the employee's were very helpful and polite. The bed pillows are very thin, but other than that, we'll be back! Oh, did I mention the price? It was Sweet!!! Like I said we'll be back!
