St. Annes Hotel, Swansea

This modern hotel, set in its own grounds on the hill above Mumbles' seafront, has views over Swansea Bay from most of its rooms. There's nothing very special about the decor but it's clean and comfortable. Free from traffic noise, the young staff provide good services. A large lounge of wicker chairs and settees has a wall of windows facing the sea. You can also sit in the small conservatory porch and peruse all the tourist brochures for the area. The restaurant is not a gourmet's dream but serves local seafood and only charges for an evening meal are nominal. The hotel is popular with American visitors. Children are welcome too.
