Horrible Experience at Avillion
i'm a newlywed hoping to spend romantic honeymoon at avillion. When we checked in (23rd December 2008), theres no porter to assist us. This is very bad due to parking lot provided are about 50 meters away from the lobby. We (me n hubby) even have to bring our bags to our room by ourselves. Which located about 200m from the lobby.
We took honeymoon package, but again, when we checked in nobody run through our tentative, at all. We were treated as if we were there for a normal room reservation.
Our room was fairly ok. Welome drink? Nada. They dun provide it. Oh.. but they do provide "bruised fruit" in a white plain plate for us as a welcome gift. Pffft. I'm starting to have a very bad feeling about this trip. And we were connected to 3 different extension to get them to send in bathrobe for us. Talking about baaaad service.
The breakfast banquet... is superb. Many variety and toast bread, roti canai and eggs were made fresh. The so-called-romantic candle light dinner is completely nightmare. It was food for Christmas Dinner where everything tastes like cinnamon. What's so romantic abt cinnamon? I cant stand it. The appertizer was nice. It was seafood platter. But the rest.... cinnamon soup, cinnamon bread, stuffed apple with cinnamon, cinnamon turkey, cinnamon sauce.. cinnamon this and that. Me n hubby have to make *an excuse* to get away from food horror experience. We left without 2 other courses. If we stayed longer, i swear i'm gonna vomit. Bad baaaaaad baaaaaaaaaaaad food service.
Spa treatment, i give it 5 star. Completely blissful experience. The they 1 dedicated building for spas. The built is gorgeous. The massage session.. heavenly... i may come again for the spa... (but never for the room).
Then there's time to checked out. We were told that when we checked in, the staff accidentally checked our card as credit card. Since we're using debit card, they gonna charge us again, but they promised to settle with CIMB merchant to cancel the previous transaction on the day itself.
Little that we know.. they actually done nothing.
2 weeks later, i gotta a call from a bank saying one of my cheque bounced.
I'm shocked. And when i called my bank, they said Avillion charged us RM1600 twice. When we say to the bank that Avillion is to cancel one of the bill... they said nobody called them. Not on 25th December 2008 when they promised they would settle it within 1 day... Not until today - January 5th. The bank said nobody attempt to cancel any transaction at all.
All and all..
They double charged us.
They double charged us of RM1600.00 for completely horrid holiday.
Meaning we have to pay RM3200.00 for 3D2N + x-mas dinner (supposedly honeymoon romantic candle light dinner) + 1 hour spa treatment for 1 pax!!!! Now you be the judge; should we rate this hotel as a 5 star?
The customer service is VERY VERY VERY bad. They don't want to help fix the situation but insist the fault is on us. They make the conversation sound as if we try to con them. Not helpful at all. Damage has been done. Not even a single sorry. What a low par customer service. Simply Pathetic!
I suggest if u have RM1600 or Rm3200 to burn.. buy yourself a 4 quality wood poster bed. Worth your money a gazillion more times than Avillion.
I will never come to Avillion again.
