top class hotel
We have stayed here a few times, the last time being 2002, but we went back last week (w.c. 31/05/08) just to have a look, and the hotel has had a new top floor added with luxury features. Each time we have stayed we have been so impressed with the level of service and the facilities, and whilst we were very happy with the hotel we stayed in this year (in Malcesine) it doesnt really compare with the Parc Flora. The position is perfect, with a little path leading from the garden down to the lake, and a lovely walk along the lake into the centre of Riva (around 1 km). The best thing about the hotel is the pool and surrounding gardens - a little slice of paradise. Breakfast is a veritable feast, and is taken on the terrace overlooking the garden with wonderful views of the mountains. Don't be put off by the fact that the hotel fronts onto the main road - the double glazing is very efficient and we were never bothered by noise.
We plan to come back to Lake Garda and if we chose to stay at the Northern end of the lake, we wouldnt stay anywhere else.
If you want a special meal during your stay, there is really only one place to go - Al Volt. This is an absolutely top rate eatery - and, compared to UK prices is extremely reasonable.
