From the bellhop to the chamber maids, they no speak english but very willing to help and make your stay a pleasant one. Telephone operator turned translator to assist in inquiries. A little spoken mandarin needed by visitor but not necessary as staff very obliging and determined to fulfill guests every requests. (using universal hand and body language) Room facilities include desktop workstation with internet service FOC. Ideal business person hotel centrally located in business centre of city and walking distance to west lake tourist area, shopping, tea retailers and short hop to night R & R. Inhouse F & B facilities adequate but we only partook of breakfast with full western, japanese and chinese breakfast buffet spread. Prices seemed high compared to local F & B but then this is A HOTEL and lower than international hotels. Unfortunately, no foreign newspapers available but with internet and CNN, NHK on the telly, daily papers not missed. We were oh so messy and yet after every daily foray from the hotel, we returned to an immaculate and tidy room. we felt safe and comfortable with the staff to leave our travel documents in a drawer and once, even on the table top, though a room safe was provided and room notices advised us to leave such things at the conceige, we did not feel the urge to use these facilities. I recommend this hotel to any traveller expecting the usual standards and comfort from an international class hotel (3 stars and above). Staff a definite plus factor and location ideal and streets safe at night. we will definitely make this our local stay if we return to Hangzhou. Ho Hock Mun Petaling Jaya, Malaysia 17sept., 2008
