Loved it and will be going back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/6/11
This is a lovely resort. We stayed in the bungalow section. The staff was friendly. The beach was fantastic. The food was ok. We are booked for 2 weeks at this resort next year. I would highly recommend this resort.

This hotel is a dump with a nice beach. Avoid.
By llll, 2/18/11
The standard rooms are moldy and smelly and small. The air conditioner was noisy. If you turned off the A/C then you'd hear the water faucet drip all night. Front desk staff has it down packed and are unaccommodating. They know they can scam money from you because the only way to get upgraded to a clean room is to pay... We had no choice and paid 13 pesos ($14 Cdn.) extra a day for the "bungalow". Then you get a slightly cleaner room with a less noisy A/C. Other guest were in the same predicament and many were complaining to front staff. The standard rooms need to be completely torn down or at the very least re-done. It's a pity because the beach is gorgeous. This is more of a one star hotel and not the 3 stars that is listed. Small size rooms can be acceptable but never moldy and smelly rooms, no matter how much or little time you spend in them. Bottom line is the standard rooms should not be offered to guests and the staff should have immediately put us in a clean room without gouging for more money. The experience left us tired. Our advice: find another hotel... do you need the headache?

Great location fantastic beach Helpful smiling gracious staff A super abundance of food and restaurants . Fabulous themes nights and great Cabaret show. Clean and always prepared rooms. I felt safe welcomed and at home . I was able to invite a friend for the day ! Excellent !!! A great Place to stay without the super expensive cost of a hotel. Keep up the good work .

great place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/23/10
I loved the place the people were great. the rooms were clean and the house cleaners were great hard workers. the food is good, u wont starve to death, there is always something good to eat!!! the beaches are beautiful and the market place is great for gifts. there is a little village u can go to and please bring kids clothes to give them, they are in need, if u visit the village it will give u a new appreciation of what we have. candy and clothes are a great gift for the kids in the village, go visit and the house keeper like to get toothpaste and u can give them tips also. i give it a 4 stars and will go again! LOVED IT!!

If you like to be treated badly go!
By vidandy, 3/22/10
We went there in April 2009. The site is big, the beach is absolutely gorgeous. We got a Chameleon package from Nolitours/Transat that was misleading .All that was promised to us promised us was a lie.The preferred room location in Bungalows was awful. Rooms are moldy, dirty, electrical is unsafe. The stuff is friendly if you hold a tip in your hand and than they will insult you and pretend it is a joke..The Nolitours concierge Francois Bernier will not help you. From what I hear the resort is now under new management so lets hope things will improve. Strangely some people choose to return again and again to this resort. Personally I would not recomend this to others.

never going back
By Julia Mccron, 1/8/10
We were there in March 09 and we were not put in the villas like we were supposed to be we were put in the old part of the hotel. They did this to several people we met there. On day trips we found out that they over book the hotel and sent people to neighbouring hotels when that happens. They didn't even have a blender for drinks. So your options are beer and hard liquor. I want proper pina Colada when i go on vacation.

going back for third time
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/29/09
we loved it!!! my daughter who is somewhat fussy thought it was beautiful. they had never been away before, always stayed close to canada. they wouldn"t go anyplace else now.the food is good,we never went hungry. you can always find something you like. for the most part 80% of all canadians should go to cuba to lose weight and eat healthier. fish, fruit, vegetables, rice this is healthy eating!!!!!!! we are going again in march.

Can't wait to go next winter
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/26/09
Read so many negative reviews about the place on other websites but found them WRONG. It is what you make it. Was a wonderful time. Clean villas, great food(you pick it. you eat it) Lovely beaches, clear ocean. Very appreciative staff and very friendly. So very many things to do. Fellow guests were friendly and enthusiastic. Will return next year and many more to come. The country is very poor and any gifts are extremely welcome. Toothpaste is rationed to the residents so take lots of it as well as discarded clothing, fragranced soaps, crayons, coloring books and give them to the security guards, gardeners, children on the beach, bus drivers, and horse and buggy drivers. You will have made friends for life. All in all was such a good trip and look forward to returning.

It was great, clean, the staff are so nice, couldn't ask for anything better. The food was great, the only thing I didn't like was the plumbing...LOL but that's cuba.
