My husband and I stayed here with another couple for 2 days. The resort was beautiful!!! Lots of vegetaion. We shared a Superior cabin with our friends . It was spacious enough for the four of us and cozy. The cabin had an amazing view of the volcano right from our beds. Although there is no lava flow from this side, you can take a 10 minute taxi ride for about $10 a person to see the lava. . The food from the restaurant and steak house was superb. The steak house opens for dinner. We found it a little pricey so we took a taxi to town. The breakfast buffet is included. The thermal springs offered plenty of privacy and were beautifully arranged. The staff treated us like first class guests. We would go back here anytime and would recommend Arenal Paraiso to anyone looking for a peaceful time. They also offer tour packages. we recommend going into town to get better deals on tours. The town is fairly safe. Great for Singles, Couples, family with children . All in all we had an amazing time at the Arenal Paraiso..
Let me first say the staff was wonderful! The rooms were very affordable and close to all of the main attractions in San Carlos. We had a perfect view of the volcano and aside from rain it was well worth it. The onsite restaurant had the most wonderful food. (I recommend the lemonade as a beverage!) I could go on and on about paradise but time will not permit.
I was in costa rica for 3 1/2 months and only spent one day not even a night at the hotel and i was amazed and the people working there are dedicated to you. while i was living in costa rica i had a friend who is the manager at the hotel and I was with his wife and he was supposed to meet us at the San Carlos soccer game but missed it because a guest need to go to the hospital and stayed with them for the night to help with translation and just be there.
My husband and I spent 12 days in Costa Rica with another couple. This was the second city we went to and was our favorite of all the places we visited. We had a couples massage that was fantastic. The swim up bar has cloudy water that made me nervous but it's because of the natural minerals in it. I was glad to have experienced it when the next 3 days my skin felt so soft and amazing. The food was just OK but I'm married to a chef so I am picky. One night there was aftershocks from an earthquake in Guatemala and we thought the volcano was erupting. That was a bit scary! Great view of the volcano but didn't see any lava flow. We only stayed at this resort for 2 nights and I wish we had stayed there for all 12! Too expensive to do that but it was great while it lasted. Our other places were $60/night and they looked it too! If we ever go back to Costa Rica, Arenal Paraiso will be our top choice to stay. The only bad thing about it is that it's not on the ocean. :)
