Visited in August 2006

We stayed at the Arcadia in August of 2006. The hotel was clean and in pretty good condition. The mattress was a little saggy (this is alright since who goes to Venice for sleep). The bathroom seemed to be recently refurbished with modern fixtures, bath/shower, and flooring. No air conditioning in room, but opening the window at night with the provided electric fan kept the August heat down to a tolerable level. The hotel's location is a little further away from the city center than other hotels, but for the price, the further walk to the main sites are within reason. Also, there was an enjoyable outdoor produce street market out in front of the hotel, a few noted historical sites nearby, and it was close to the train station. The hotel staff members were pleasant, especailly the women who served breakfast out in the dining area. Very old, beautiful common areas. I would recommend this hotel, and would book there for future stays.
