Slightly disapointed
By ,
Was a little disapointed as had read some great reviews. The public areas were of a high standard, it was clean, and the service was, on the whole, pretty good. The room however was extremely small, with very noisy air conditioning. Also the bathroom could have done with a refurb. However, the rates are good, so cannot complain too much - although doubt I would go back again.

loved it!
By ,
I found this hotel on the internet and booked it because of all of the positive reviews. It is in a wonderful location, and the service is superb!!! The rooms are modest, but clean. We would stay again in a heartbeat!

good but
By ,
this hotel has great curbside hotel and the staff is excellent. it is a small hotel best used as a homebase for exploring mendoza and not a destination hotel or place to hang out. if you looking for moderate price and clean, attentive staff and a good location, then yes. yes, there is a but. the standard rooms are very small, and in particular the twin beds in them are very short and uncomfortable. i would stay if you must stay in a standrard room, don't. moved hotels because the plush, lush, amazing, all amenity hotel, park hyatt is across the street and total luxury. but that was a decision to allocate more money to the hotel and hang there more. also popular is to stay outside of mendoza in the actual wine country on an estancia or rancho. at any rate, catch the Vines of Mendoza tasting room right up the street from the hotels argentino and park hyatt. great way to more fully explore argentinian malbecs, really l earn and target which wines to buy, order or which wineries to visit.

had to move due to A/C noise
By ,
I agree with all the reviews, but could not sleep because the A/C made too much noise. The A/C unit is mounted to the wall in the room. Since the temperature is hot in January, the A/C ran all night. We moved to another hotel the next day.

Just excellent
By ,
Spent one week there both last year and the year before. Best location possible in town and room, service etc. just top of the line. Ask for one of the 2 rooms with balcony overlooking the main plaza. On the second visit, however, some age marks were beginning to show (baggage marks from scraping walls, for example). With any luck they may have added a cafe with tables in the front of the hotel. Certainly just the place for it. Greatly appreciated the high speed internet connection in the lobby.

A gem of a hotel
By ,
I had first read about the Argentino in the NY Times Travel section and seemed like a good deal. When I booked they only had a suite available for $80 a night, including breakfast. I was really impressed when I arrived. The staff were very attentive, my suite was wonderful. I had a seperate living room with a full bath and a huge bedroom with another full bath. The only thing missing was a real closet, but hey for the price I will overlook that. They even have a small swimming pool in the inner courtyard. The front desk was happy to book several day trips for me, lined up a private car and driver for a more indepth tour of some of the vineyards. And the location is on the same plaza as the much more expensive Hyatt. So unless you just want to pay $300 plus a night at the Hyatt stay at the Argentino and walk around the corner and have lunch at the Hyatt. The standard rooms looked a bit small from what I could tell but I think the average price for a standard was about $45 a night. They also offered suites on the unpper front that had private terrances overlooking the Plaza, my next vist I am asking for one of those rooms.
