Little Gem

Just got back from a 4 day stay and as I had thought, just as the reviews said, it was perfect in everyway.
The staff are fantastic - helpful, thoughtful and welcoming. Nothing was too much for the staff.
The room was beautiful, clean and comfortable. Great size safe, huge bed, mini bar with some complimentary cola and water on arrival. Only thing I wish I had took with me was a small foldable mirror as there was no dressing table with mirror but the bathroom was fine too use.
The breakfast was perfect - pastries, cereals, small amounts of fruit, biscuits, coffees, tea, hard boiled eggs, juices, jams, honey, hams and cheeses. Other have described the breakfasts as poor in selection - but I thought it was plentiful!
The location is ideal and I found it very peaceful. There is a waterbus stop right by the hotel, the train station is 5 minutes walk.
I stayed in room 107 - it has its own private courtyard where I would take breakfast and enjoy it in the morning sunshine. Ask for this room - you will not be dissapointed.
The entrance to the hotel is not forbidding as some reviews have stated, it has small lights which activate as you walk down it. There are many alleys like this in Venice!
There is a handy internet and telephone exchange around the corner (planet internet), a lovely bakery next door and you must try Gam Gam for lunch or dinner (right by the hotel).
I will stay at this hotel again when I return to Venice - it really was fantastic!
