Hotetur Beach Paradise, Zona Hotelera

I have to say, I was a little leary about going to this resort after some of the reviews I read. This resort was beautiful.The people here are very friendly and go out of their way for you. The food was not as bad as people wee saying, although the coffee takes some getting used to. our room was always clean. The only down side I would say is that the beds are a little hard as are the pillows. This is a very small resort which we enjoyed. We went to visit a "5 star" resort and it was way to crowded by the pool. All in all I am very glad we stayed here and would go back again.

Normally I wouldn't let one thing spoil my whole opinion of a hotel but I will NEVER go back to Hotetur in Cancun again. The last day of our week long stay we returned to our room to find our laptop went missing. Security was called and they did a "search" of our room and wrote up a "report". We were out of the room for the day on an excursion to Isla Mujeres and were so disappointed in the response when we reported this computer stolen. We tried time and time again to contact management but they never did come out and even talk with us. We actually sat in the lobby for 2 hours (the next morning) waiting for the manager to come and talk with us. The front desk people were SO rude and kept saying "he is coming right now". Because we had to catch our flight home, we had no choice but to leave without being able to make any sort of complaint to the manager. All we had was the "security report" written up by the night staff. This trip was in Feb 2010 and we have tried to contact them numerous times since then without ANY sort of response. To make this all worse, we are pretty sure that while we were gone the front desk made a new key card for whoever stole the computer for entrance into our room. I think this because our original key card did not work when we got back, I went down to the front desk and reported this. Without even a question of my name they renewed the card with a new code for our room and gave it to me. ANYONE could have walked in and asked for a key to room *** and walked right into YOUR room and taken what they wanted. This was handled SOOOO poorly and we are very angry about the disrespect we were shown in that the staff wouldn't even talk with us about what happened, let alone that it happened at all! If you want anything in your room safe then DON'T STAY AT HOTETUR!

My friends and family booked 3 rooms with Hotetur Beach Paradise 5 months prior to our planned visit. They just sent us an e-mail 16 DAYS BEFORE WE WERE SUPPOSED TO LEAVE saying that they cancelled our reservations because they overbooked. It is our senior year in high school, this is a tradition for seniors to leave for Mexico. We saved up all our money for this and even bought plane tickets. Now all they says is "Sorry there's nothing we can do" MAYBE THEY SHOULDN'T HAVE OVERBOOKED.

This was my first time to Cancun & I had a wonderful time.The only complaint I had was the AC in the rooms either didn't work or it was struggling to keep up. Once you took a shower and got into your pj's at night you would start to cool off & by morning you were comfortable. But once you started moving around in the room it would start getting hot again. There also was no AC in any of the Restaurants at the hotel. It was either just not working or it was just not on at all. That had to be the worst part of the whole trip. It just isn't any fun to eat food when you are sweating. Overall the service was great & everyone that worked there was very friendly & helpful. Although the AC was an issue it would not stop me from going back again. However I may choose to go out to eat somewhere other then the hotel restaurants.

After reading some of the reviews, my best friend and I were a little leary about what we would find. We were thrilled with our experience at this hotel. Our beds and pillows were very comfortable. Our A/C worked great. The elevator worked and Vicktor, our bellhop was on top of everything we wanted or needed. All the staff was right there to help you with anything you needed. The activities director was awesome and the activities at night were a lot of fun. Our room did need more light and the food was not so good but those are our only complaints. We had free massages on the beach and they even came on the beach and took drink orders and brought them back to us. We were surprised at the topless ladies on the beach. The buses were crazy. The first time we got on one, the driver wanted pesos which we hadn't had a chance to get any and then he wouldn't let us off the bus. He made us get off the bus in the slums of Cancun and that was a frightening experience, however, a young couple from CO. was staying our hotel and they got a map and explained what buses we needed to get on and where to go and how to go and we had no problems with the buses after that except you do have to get on and HANG on. We cannot wait to go back and would probably stay here the next time. It was an awesome experience for both of us and a trip we will always remember. We would rate this hotel at a 4 1/2 star.

This Hotel was fabulous. The staff, service and the food was great. The room was very nice. We had a window on one side of the room and a terrace on the other. I was celebrating my 50th birthday, and I can truly say that it was unforgettable! I would return in a heart beat!

Everything was really great about this place. Only downfalls and suggestions to them were: Bring your own pillow - the beds and pillows were uncomfortable, but that was the only thing wrong with the hotal itself. The bus system is cheap, but hold on, they drive very fast even when making frequent stops. The hotel is located towards the far end of downtown, so if you are using the bus system and do not know Spanish, I would suggest you grab one of the coasters the put under the ashtrays each time you go out to use the bus system so you can show the driver where you want to go when you are coming back. We got dropped off a few times at another place with a similar name before the destination and some of the bus drivers also tried to do a U-turn and head back the other way before getting to our hotel. Other than these minor things the hotel is awesome.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 days prior to transferring to another hotel as part of a work related convention. We were assigned to the ninth floor of an adjacent hotel. We rode an elevator up to the eight floor and then had to walk up stairs to the ninth floor. THIS WAS NOT FUN. The room was hot, so hot that the second say of the stay we had to change rooms after asking for room changes at least 5-6 times. The staff were not helpful, stating that they would send maintenance up to check the hot air, problem. They did this many times when they realized we were going to check out if they didn't get the problem fixed. When asked if this was a problem with the building or our room, they denied it was a problem with the building but then they admitted it was a problem with the whole building after we observed another person complaining about it at the front desk. The building was humid and smelled very musty (moldy). The floors of our room had a slippery "greasy" feel to it. Their fitness center is a joke, consisting of old excersize bikes you'd find in your grandma's house. The weights are those old plastic weights filled with sand. The food bar near the pool has very unedible food. The opinion of my wife and I is that this hotel should probably be torn down and rebuilt. The building is just very outdated and doesn't provide much comfort. The food at the restaurants and the drinks were good. That's all we have good to way about this place.

this holiday has been a once in a lifetime experiance and it has been everything we imagined, it blew my mind away, at night we saw turtles on he beach laying there eggs which i never expected to see it was wounderful, also on the holiday i had the chance to let the baby turltes which hatch into the sea and it was priceless and out of this world. The hotel was excelliant more than i expected the staff where great and very usefull, the food was absoutly beautiful, the room i stayed in was lovely there was nothing i could fault in the hotel. The view was out of this world and i would defferntly go back there next year, i couldnt wait to get back home to tell my family and friends about the faboulous things we did. At night we took bus down to the town which was only 10 mins and the town was intresting, i would reccommed this holiday for everyone off all ages it is perfect for children my family enjoyed it exspecially my kids, i cant tell u everything but i do reccommed this holiday to youu and dont listern to the ba comments because i dont know what they are talking about becuse it was abosoutly brilliant.
