Hotel Arabella, Bad Nauheim

Although I had a fairly pleasant experience (the owner is friendly and quick to respond to customer complaints, the location is great for the work I was doing, and the rooms are fairly large by European standards), there were a few downsides as well. Because the owner went to sleep early (hey...she had to get up early and work the next morning - I understand that), it was difficult for the folks I was going to meet the next day to call the hotel and get connected to my room (actually impossible). One of my colleagues had a clogged sink and malfunctioning TV in his room. My other colleague was given a room that smelled so strongly of cigar smoke that he had to change rooms. Would I stay here again if I was doing business in the area? Hm...probably not. There are better hotels for business travelers nearby. Pluses: friendly service, good breakfast spread (for German standards), reasonable rates, large rooms. Minuses: No 24-hour staff, maintenance issues, smoking rooms are unbearable for non-smokers.
