Recently we had the privilidge of attending the Restaurant and Catering Awards in Wollongong, as we recently joined as members with our new restaurant in Illawarra. We decided to dine at a few restaurants that won awards in 2006. We had an excellent time in three other restaurant as we were travelling south, UNTIL we had the horrible experience at the Ulladulla Guest House at Elizans restaurant. We realised that the ignorance of a community can sometimes allow places like this to continue. We originally had a restaurant in England and received 2 Michellin stars. So we do expect a level of real expertise. The minute we arrived it was very pretentious, and made feel very uneasy, we did book for one night aswell, and its not cheap, the categories of 5 star accomodation needs to be reviewed as there is different levels of 5 star, you cannot compare the sheraton, Hilton, Sebel, or other international reputable hotels to an NRMA rating, its like getting a local friends soccer team to compete in the World cup. Apples and Oranges, I wont go further, if anyone enjoys being robbed and dining with food that represents playschool cuisine, then the guest house is for you,
No proffessional bases whatsover, extremely dissapointed.
