Inn at The Forks, Winnipeg

I had my wedding at the hotel and it was nice to have rooms nearby. The banquet manager was great during the planning process but on the day of there were issues and mistakes by other staff members that were stressful. The food at the Current restaurant is very good and the banquet food was somewhat comparable I heard good feedback from guests. Overall a good experience that could have been perfect if staff communication and attention to detail was better which is a shame because some higher up staff members were really helpful but it didn't carry down to all the details. Also had a french manicure at the Riverstone spa on day of wedding and it wasn't well done. A very public room for the service where there were 4 or 5 other clients, Ten Spa definitely a better all around spa experience.

When we first arrived, we thought our massages were going to be in the actual spa, but instead we were whisked away to the 3rd floor to a converted hotel room. Not very romantic. Part of our package was champagne and truffles for $30. We got a sample bottle of champagne to fill one glass and a truffle box 1.5 inch square. What a deal! During the entire massage, we heard the ice machine, and kids running up and down the hallway. How is this relaxing When we walked back to the desk to pay for the services we were shocked to see that we were forced to pay a 15% gratuity. I was going to tip the ladies myself, but this gratuity should be at the customer’s discretion. After complaining to the manager about the poor service, she said she was going to refund some money back to our credit card. Still until this day we have not received any compensation. Just horrible. Stay away and go to Ten Spa instead! There, they treat you like a king and queen.

My husband and I took our son/girlfriend to the Current for supper to celebrate a birthday. The meal was mediocre, the service scant and the price high. It was disappointing! The menu is sparse at least for dinner. The location is ideal, and we had a very nice table but quite disappointed overall.

I had my wedding reception at the Inn at the Forks in July 2007. My husband (then my fiancee) and quite a few of his family members stayed at the Inn. The hotel was a perfect location for "out of towners" and a great location for a wedding reception. The staff, particularly the banquet manager, were friendly and helpful -- they took care of all of our needs and surpassed our expectations. I recommend this location to anyone who wants to have an elegant wedding -- the food was amazing, the room beautiful. Fantastic!
