Friendly Hotel on the Mosel
I stayed at the Hotel Contel for six weeks and I really did like it there.
It's a nice hotel right on Mosel river. In the evenings you could sit out in the beer garden overlooking the river. There's a little pond in the middle of the beer garden that has ducks. My son loved to feed them. Good pretzels, nice ambience, lovely view, and pleanty of good beer too.
The hotel has a nice cozy restaurant. But if you wanted to eat in, some of the rooms had small kitchens where you could cook for yourself.
There is a walking path along the river that you can follow into the heart of Old Koblenz and the German Korner. It's a nice walk and I never had any problems -- even alone and at night. I'd stop off at the Irish Pub for a pint of Strongbow to fortify me for the walk back to the hotel after a day of shopping. Ahh, yes. That was very nice indeed.
And last but not least: the people. The people who worked at the Hotel Contel were all very friendly, kind and helpful.
