Palazzo al Borgo de Colleoli is back on track.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/29/09
This is a fabulous resort. The accommodation is simply fantastic. If you want Tuscan solitude this is the place to go. Great swimming pools. Lovely walks. Authenic Tuscan food at reasonable prices. Impeccible service. Having been through a difficult period a few years ago Borgo de Colleoli is definitely back on track. We'll be back!

Tuscan tears
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/28/07
Booked this through small ad in local paper, Looked fantastic on web. Was easy to get to via Pisa, and well located to explore Florence/Pisa/Lucca. The resort itself is a graveyard. Mostly closed up and quite dilapidated. Nothing to do on site or nearby. Restaurant was closed and enoteca open at seemingly random times. Lady in local bar said developers had gone bankrupt and selling up. Won't be returning.

My Visit to Borgo de Colleoli
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/14/07
The setting is idealic, nested on the top of a hill, overlooking the north Tuscan countryside, smells of flowers in the air, a glass or two of Chianti and stunning food. The apartments we stayed in were lovely, with a DVD player and TV, kitchenette if you wanted to cook yourselves. The resort is car-free, with two swimming pools, one is heated, the other is not. It is very central for visiting Pisa, Florence, San Giminagno, and Lucca. It is a great place to sit and unwind, with a good book or two, and absorb the Tuscan way of life, Highly recommmended.

needs a new chef
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/1/06
The scenery is fantastic and the estate is great to walk around, ufortunately its in the middle of nowhere. The food in the enoteca is mediocre although the pizzas are very good and the prices are ok. In the i secoli restaurant the prices are more expensive but the food is terrible and not authentic Italian, I think they need a new chef who knows how to cook Italian cuisine. The servic was'nt much better and the sommelier did'nt know what he was talking about. The room was lovely, the Italians very friendly but I would'nt go back.

Luxury - it's definition
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/16/05
Loved everything apart from the prices! Service - impeccable to the point that we now sit in the car for hours waiting for someone to open the doors for us and refuse to carry our own luggage Room - massive and v opulent 2 tvs and dvds a monster super king sized bed jacuzzi (sp) and an emormous living room with high painted ceiling long windows and beautiful views. Location - bit out in the sticks for my liking but it was quiet and relaxing and they arranged hire cars with no hassle at all (even though they did give us a lime green fiat panda grrrrr) All in all a beautiful and very unique place to stay - had a wonderful honeymoon - will go back if and when we win the lottery!
