City Garden Hotel Makati, Makati City

This happend the last 2 of 7 bookings , when I arrived had booking confirmation #, told "sorry Sir overbooked" off to find another hotel at 1AM...not happy. Returned next day as they held a room for me from previous night. Checked out 2 days later after I confirmed a return booking for 18 days later. Arrived 18 day later.." Sorry sir...over booked"...this time I went ballistic and demanded to have meeting with the General Manager. This caused a big stir and within 5 minutes had a room. Know how? they gave me some other poor travelers room who I'm sure was told "sorry sir...overbooked". If this does not deter you then I recommend when u place your booking via internet (or call in) call 3 days later to confirm and get the name of the person on phone and the on duty manager and tell them you will hold them accountable if you do not have a room upon arrival. Then reconfirm 3 days before u arrive.

I like the place for its cleanliness and prompt service, I only have one complain about one staff at the reception, I think her name is Elvie. She has an attitude problem and she should not be working at the reception. She should be hauling trash instead.

I stayed there this past November for 2 weeks and really enjoyed my stay. the employees are shy at first but soon began to talk and provide great conversation...they are helpful in providing useful info about things to see and visit .Diane in the restaurant was one of the many people there that make City Garden a place i have told others to visit . for the price you cannot find any better.!

Stayed more than two weeks. City Garden was close to eveything and the staff was great. The food was great, the rooms were clean, and the roof top pool and restraunt was something to expeariance.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 weeks. It has a great and convenient location at Makati Avenue. We originally booked at a different condotel (Citadel) and the place was horrible so we decided to look for another hotel in the area. We found this hotel and luckily was able to get a room. City Garden's staff are very courteous and helpful. Price is great especially for a last minute booking. Buffet is really good - free buffet breakfast. The hotel is clean and the room is nice. Beds are really comfortable. It is also close to shopping malls. The lobby area is small but very clean and elegant. I'd like to commend the door staff who greet us with smile and politeness everytime they see us. They even help us with our luggages. I am recommending this hotel to people who values quality without spending so much money.

Difficulty in dealing with hotel staff. They had much difficulty in conversing in English. There were only two lifts. It's too time consuming to wait for a couple of minutes just to take the elevator. This must be considered by the management.

This hotel is everything I've ever wanted: affordable, excellent service, delicious affordable breakfast buffet, friendly staff, close to various restaurants, walking distance to the mall, plus more... This should have been a 5-star hotel. The hotel have proven itself to be above and beyond world class service. My family and I will definitely come back and stay in this hotel again.

Out of all the hotels I've stayed in Makati, this has the best value for your peso. It's clean, professional, the rooms are nice, good location, wonderful pool on the top deck, good restaurant.

- The service is execellent. Good place to stay with the right price. The staff are courteous. The place is few miles away from the shopping center but no problem with transportation - taxi is cheap anyway. For those who are concern with cleanliness - it's the best place to stay.

*The ROOMS are well-maintained and clean. The bathroom reaches (or even surpasses) European standards. Great view. You get aircondition (with remote), TV, and a mini-kitchen starting with the standard rooms. *The LOCATION is super: ca. 20 minutes walk from the main shopping mall in Makati (Glorietta). Option of cheaper internet and laundry about 2 to 5-minute walk away. (These services by the hotel are quite expensive.) Many different neighboring restaurants. *Many AMENITIES like spa, business center, pool, etc. The restaurant on roof-deck has a magnificent view. Never tried their breakfast (due to extra charge), but it sure smelled heavenly! *The STAFF is obliging and professional, the architecture of the hotel lobby is inviting (ample with much sunlight), other guests appear content and friendly, too. *Internet-BOOKING was easy and reliable. *No dislikes. *Bottom-line: This is a great place to stay at if you're looking for comfort & luxury at best value. It's much better than e.g. the Philippine Plaza, which cost about 3x as much, and other places where you just pay for the name.
