Travelling independently

Our room was small, but adequate for our needs in reality. Larger, 2 room apartments are becoming available at extra cost, but may be advisable for those with young children given the option in future. Every room has air conditioning, a fridge, a safe and a TV, although the first three aren't included in package holiday deals from what I could see. Be aware the TV has only one English speaking channel available, namely BBC World, and over a dozen Greek channels. A little strange for a hotel that is predominantly populated by British tourists during the main season. Sky TV is available in the main lobby seating area, as is a projector screen for big sporting events.
The hotel could do with a lift, or a policy of placing those with young families on the main floor to avoid unnecessary lifting of pushchairs, but the management did acknowledge this later in the holiday.
Well situated for the main 'strip' in Kalamaki, with plenty of shops and restaurants close by. Beach within 5-10 minutes walk, and open to all. Hotel pool could do with heating, given it was still cold despite an ambient temperature of 30C plus. Discouraged my family from using it much. Buffet breakfast excellent, especially given it's included in the price of your stay. All the staff are very friendly. Internet access available, but be prepared for some slight frustration as the connection is hampered by the old PC's used. Costs 6 euros for and hours usage (2006).
Would visit this hotel again without hesitation.
