Hotel Centauro, Venice

We spent 3 nights here for our 25th and loved every minute of it. The hotel was clean, the staff extremely courteous, knowledgeable, friendly, and spoke English very well. The breakfast was excellent and very filling - with a wonderful view over the canal with gondolas moving up and down the water. The room was adequate (this is a 15th century hotel) and the bathroom lovely and clean. The furniture and decorations were very befitting for a room and building of its age. It is literally a stone's throw from the Riato Bridge and Saint Marc's Square. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because if you've had back surgery and still suffer, Italian beds are not the comfiest.
