Albergo Chiazza, Florence

We loved our stay at this hotel. Perfect location and the amazing staff really made our stay. A nice desk clerk recommended two amazing restaurants and places to go out at night after. The guy really went out of his way for us letting us use his computer at the front desk to check internet. Then another staff member was so worried we wouldnt get a message from a friend she kept checking to see if we were back until we got it. They were all so nice. While the second floor of a walk up and a shower over the toilet may not be ideal for many older travelers, the price plus the service made it just perfect for us. I highly recommend it.

the hotel has a parking wich is a luxury in florence, 10 euros/day for a little car or 12 euros/a big car. it is very well situated,really 3 minutes from the duomo. it is a calm place,cheap, clean, good mattress,very helpful people. the best meal in florence in"la giostra" restaurant just in front of the hotel (expensive). for those who came by car, important and imperative: A GOOD PLAN FROM FLORENCE. we were lost for 3 hours! internet conexion 5 euros/1 hour in the lobby computer. otherwise wi-fi connection.

We spent 5 nights at the Chiazza and were very happy with everything. Great location, just short walk from Duomo, great price. Breakfast very nice compared to what you get at places twice the price in Rome--fresh fruit, excellent choice of coffees, fresh pastry, cereal, etc. Very friendly and helpful staff. Family run, so there's a real personal touch. The rooms vary radically in size, if that's important to you ask for a larger room. Most but not all have their own bathrooms, another thing to check on. We just loved staying there and would gladly go back.
