Houda Golf And Beach Club, Sidi Al Ghudamisi

We booked this holiday with thomas cook going just by the pictures, & were pleasantly surprised with the price tag! Although after reading some reviews we began to question our accomodation, but in the end we didn't change & i'm so glad of that! ARRIVAL - we flew to monastir & the transfer was only about 5 mins. when we arrived we had a very warm welcome, our rooms were not ready but we didnt mind as they showed us to a comfy seating area, brought us drinks & handed out the forms we needed to fill in. ROOMS - very basic, but very clean. & it was okay as we were only ever in them to change, wash & sleep. the shower is also very good & powerful, which you don't always get in foreign countries. & the air con is brilliant! FOOD - the food in the main restaurant is very repetitive but what do you expect, it is all inclusive. We all managed to find something to eat everyday though, the variety is there but you need to remember they have to cater for other guests also. the waiters are lovely though and very friendly they decorate your table and all sorts. you have the option of going to the tunisian & italian a carte restaurants during your stay, but you must reserve a table early, we never went, but heard they were pretty good. the food at the pool snack bar is lovely & fresh though, although you do usually have to queue, which gets very frustrating when a few german and french guests will push in. They have panini's & baguettes which you can fill yourself, freshly baked pizza's and chips available, its open during the day & then re-opens again at nightime if you're feeling peckish. POOL - the main pool is lovely and surprisingly is never too crowded, there are all sorts of fun games and activities to join in with around the pool & the animation team play music there during the day. sunbeds are not always easy to get, but we just asked the security guard to get us some everyday instead of waking up at 5 am and we'd pay him 10 dinar a day, although this was not necessary, we just thought he deserved it (: . did not visit the slide pool but seemed nice enough. BEACH - the beach is adequate, although my daughter was put off by the sea weed a little, but regardless we all loved going in the sea - its really warm too! ENTERTAINMENT - i went with my husband, my friend & her husband, my sister & my teenage daughter, so naturally she expected she would be bored, but she actually is the one persuading us to go back next year! and it is all due to the animation team! we all loved them, great bunch of people, very funny & amazingly good at their job. in my eyes you cant fault them, & we actually miss some of them now that we're back home. They are great fun around the pool trying to get everybody involved, & they put on shows at night time, which are actually quite good & many of them are very talented! (DONT MISS THE FIRE SHOW!) We went to a foam party with them one night & it was a right laugh! Special mention to Crazy Mido, Sami, Ned, Amir, Mehdi & Big mido! WEATHER - beautiful everyday without fail. got a great tan & didn't particuarly even sunbathe much! NIGHT CLUB - was dead when we went during the first week we got there, but we went on the 9th day before we went home there were a lot more people there. but if your looking for that kind of thing, theres a great one in sousse called BORA BORA & also ask the hotel staff, they'll let you know. OTHER -most of the soft drinks are self-serve and yes there are queues but they go down quite quickly We went into sousse to do some shopping one day, not the most glamourous of places, but its still lovely. & some great restaurants TIPS - i recommend taking mosquito repellant & bite gel as you may be bit, high factor sun cream as we saw many people burnt, & also some tablets incase you get a dodgy tummy! So try not to be put off by the negative reviews, we all had a lovely time & cant wait to go back next year, try it for yourself (:

we loved it ,layed back holiday staff friendly ,especially animation team loved ameia and sammy also crazy meado ,lovely lads and we will go back rooms basic but clean lobby shops staff pester you but just say maybe tomorrow it works ,,cleaners clean everyday,,food mainly done for germans who are very rude and try to push us brits around all i can say is give it em back and enjoy

all those people who are saying bad things africa is a 3rd word country what do you expect i think it is great

just got back after 2 weeks had a great time staff fantastic, recomend the tunisian and italian al carte restaurants plenty of things to do for the kids slide pool area is a must for the kids and adults alike, take a trip in the olive groves on a camel and visit a bedewin village a great day out also a trip to el jem ampitheatre and mosaic musuem a must and a pirate boat ship trip is a must if you are lucky you could get to see dolphins swimming in the wild, and monistir and sousse port el kotaui close by bartering is a great fun you can have a good laugh and get some great bargains i reccomend anybody to go there its a great holiday i enjoyed the whole thing and the food at the hotel was of a high standard with plenty on offer but be sure not to pay for any photos on the day before you leave as you may not get them and if you go on day trip be sure to get back to your coach at the time they say or they will go without you, other than that no other prpblems so if you decide to go to tunisia this is the perfect hotel for you 3 star with 5 star potenial sure you will have a great time here

this was the second time back for me my husband and daughter whos 10. it is a fab hotel with plenty to do.the three of us loved the slides,it was fun. the food was nice with plenty to choose from.All the staff were friendly,it was my daughters birthday,they made her a birthday cake and all the waiters sang to her,how lovely is that?the staff worked very hard and at night put on a good show. we will defo be going back.well done Houda!

my first time here loved every minute of it.animation team fantastic my son 6 loved it loads for him to do minigolf,waterslides,arcade ect....food ok alcoholic drinks bit short but would go back tomorow carols a star!

I loved it here and really want to go back. The staff and everyone are so friendly, they make you feel welcome. Its a great location and right on the beach. I'm really going to miss the animation team; they were fantastic. They provide top entertainment without the need for outside entertainers and work so hard at their jobs. There wasn't much to do as I went in the winter but there hav been so many good reviews from the summer we're going to check it out soon. Definatly go hotel houda if you want a fantastic time.

Generally speaking, I would recommend Hotel Houda, but not to everyone. Reason being that if you are looking for a 4/5 star rated luxury hotel - this is not the hotel/holiday for you. Not that the accomodation is particularly poor here or anything it's just that you pay for what you get and in the case of Hotel Houda you do get excellent value for money. The price always seems to be very reasonable to go there and for the money you get an all round good all-inclusive package. The rooms are adequate and clean, the weather is consistent, the staff quite enthusiastic and competant and the food (considering it's you're usual all-inclusive buffet style scenario) was very satisfactory in variety and quality. I've booked up with the missus to go back next year again as a cheap "second" holiday for the year where we can go and lie down at the beach in the sunshine, eat and drink as much as we want, chill out and it not cost the earth for the priviledge - EXACTLY what the Houda is there for!

I absolutely loved this place. I really enjoyed my holiday there and i wish i was still there now. The staff; waiters, cleaners and all the animation team are great fun, and the games in the day are excellent. I think the hotel seemed very big but very clean. The rooms were always clean, but needed updating as the bathroom could have been better. Apart from that i really loved my holiday and i wish i could go back there.
