The Victoria Phan Thiet Beach Resort And Spa Hotel, Hai Long

From the brochure this resort looked perfect for us we have been to many resorts within asia so our comments we feel are well judged.. we booked for 8 nights 4 too many the beach is poor dirty rocky and used by locals ...we found human faeces on the rocks.the manager made no attempt to acknowledge us during our 8 days and after 5 complaints of a leaking aircon unit over our bed we insisted on moving to another unit with no response from management.the grounds are badly in need of care this is a high priced resort ,some of the facilities featured in the brochure do not match the photos i.e. golf putting and driving range totally run down and unusable staff were friendly,breakfast was good but didnt change in 8 days the flaged swimming area was only 20 meters wide rocky rough and where was the white sand featured. Mui Nei beach was disgustingly littered with local rubbish and even sewarage outlets taxi was required to get to any other food outlets at Mui Ne. 200 kms from Saigon to the resort takes 4hrs by car on a dreadful busy road with no interesting features woudnt recommend . We booked a full package from this hotel directly. On departure from the city, they sent an old bus to pick us instead of the new one as they had promised. We complained about this. On departure from the hotel, after check out, we had luch together in 2 hours, finally when the bus wheels were going to move, a LADY stoped us 4 times to claim for the missing items in the rooms. Can you suffer from missing items in the room that you have checked out 2 hours before? For your information, we are a sourcing office of top 5 famous home furnishing name in the world so we could ensure that none of us wanted anything from the room. On the way back to the city, this time was another bus newer and crazier. The driver was uneducated and said some swear word with us because he wanted to have money from us. He said that he could stop only 2 times as per contract with Victoria. It also meaned that we could not stop for even toilet. We will never come back this monster again.

Come to Phu Hai resort, feel like you're in heaven now: nice restaurant, small resort for each family, private swimming pool, artificial rock.... The sands with a red color is the special and unforgetable thing when you come here. Nice place to get a holiday summer.

Surprised we were the first to write a review! We booked the Victoria for 3 days initially but ended up staying for over a week. The sea front bungalows were really nice and spacious, but this place is quite expensive for a beach resort. Its a French run Hotel chain and the general manager and his team were all French All the hotel staff were locals and really friendly albeit their English not too good but the service was fine. Our mine gripe with the Victoria is that given we extended our stay and the Hotel Manager was always in the bar area and restaurant, he never once welcomed us to the hotel or asked us for any comments on our stay - not great customer service. Having said that the hotel is really nice, great beach front location (bit rocky in places so not ideal for children and watersports) nice pool area and bar area, nice spa area. Lunch was enjoyable everytime we ate, evening meals are buffet style on the whole which lets the place down so we ate out most nights in Mui Ne. Have room service breakfast on your balcony overlooking the South China Sea - very romantic. Overall a great place to stay for a couple of nights en route to Nha Trang from HCMC.
