Nice and Modern But Very Out of Town
By ,
Modern, nice business and leasure hotel located in a middle-class residential zone in Sevilla Este district (East Sevilla). Reception and staff in general were efficient but certainly not outstanding. Smaller problem with the bill at check-out was handled satisfactory by receptionist. On the ground floor there's a very nice seating area with free non-alcoholic drinks and local newspapers provided. Breakfast was good. Large selection, however no cook in sight. Not up to standard set by competitors like Sol Melia for example. Room was quiet, big and very clean - even had a large balcony. Location can simply be described as being too far off from everything interesting. Unlike advertised on a website it is not really located "close" to the airport or the train station let alone the town center. The hotel is surrounded by apartment blocks and smaller businesses. Directly around the hotel there's a covered pedestrian zone with bars and restaurants visited mostly by (lower middle class) locals. You hardly see any hotel guest there. I found these bars a very good bargain: beer and drinkable vines cost 1 Euro per glass. Just avoid the bar just across from the hotel entrance ("Angeles" or something like that) where they charge tourists a higher price for their drinks than for locals! A pizzeria called "Maria", located also just around the corner from the hotel on the other hand is highly recommended. Excellent pizza and pasta and friendly service. Directly in front of the hotel there's a stop for bus line 27 which brings you in an air-conditioned bus for 1 Euro in 30 minutes to Plaza Encarnacion square which is a mere 10 walking minutes from the cathedral area. Parking at the hotel garage cost 12 Euros per day. However there's a lot of free parking in side streets, maybe 5 walking minutes away from the hotel premises. Area looked safe enough to me. Finding the hotel by car is a bit complicated but if you check out google maps or similar services beforehand you should be able to find it especially since it can be easily seen from the autopista (motorway) already. Swimming pool is small but OK. No services there however. Type of hotel guests varied: business travelers, Japanese tour groups, and individual tourists from across Europe made up the majority of the guests I think. To sum things up: An actually good hotel located unfortunately too far away from the town center.

Poor Service for a 4 Star
By ,
The rooms are nice and very contemporary but the service is lacking in the room service and dining area. I wanted to order some items off the 24 hour room service menu at 1000 am and when I called, the kitchen told me to call back in an hour. I called the front desk and explained what happened and the kitchen called me back and said I have to wait an hour until lunch starts. I tried to explain that I was ordering off the 24 hour menu but due to the language barrier it was not getting through. Finally somone in the kitchen with better English got on the phone and I ordered my 3 items. When the food came, they I saw they charged me for the continental breakfast which was more expensive then what my 3 items added up to. I tried showing the delivery person the item's costs on the menu but that was not working out, so I called the front desk and explained it all again. At check out, the bill was corrected. My friends went to the breakfast buffet that morning and had a bad experience as well. They said the waiter there was very rude and would clean up your place mat, coffee, and silverware etc, when you got up for seconds. He also demanded another couple sit by themselves when they were trying to sit with their friends across the room. The waiter then was sorting through a bunch of silverware for about 15 minutes which made so much noise that it was distracting everyone in the room. Also, the internet in the room was extremely slow. But the good things about the hotel is the open bar with free sodas and coffee when the restaurant is closed, and the cleanliness of the hotel.
