Casa del Caribe, Santurce

My sister and I had the greatest 5 day escape to san juan (first time) and this place completely perfected heaven. you cannot get a better location, the staff was wonderful and totally cool, you really felt safe and right at home. The "small" room was quite comfortable and spacious and the whole place was just breezy and free and charming and really captured the best of PR in a quaint and dreamy setting. Quiet, clean, very comfortable bed, good size bathroom, wonderful island air.. and in response to the sheltered snobs with negative reviews, it was LOVELY waking up every morning to great coffee with fresh steamed soy milk, oj, & toast with butter & jam. i miss it! of course you can get breakfast else anywhere within a three block radius but we felt no need to. the beach is directly across the street, as is the bus to old san juan, you can walk to ocean park, the marriot, right there, to gamble or salsa on the dance floor... also if you stay at casa, take some of your savings and go all out at zabo, few blocks away, an INCREDIBLE restaurant with the greatest service that promises an unforgettable dining experience. i'm getting carried away here but back home in nyc, i miss the other side of paradise. can't wait to go back and i know where I'M staying! hope san juan is good to you too.
