Beautiful View, Friendly People
Likes: Loved the view out over the Bay and watching the sunset in the evening. Parking is on the other side of the Bay but a 24/7 ferry service with a 2 minute ferry ride to get the the Oasis Marigot adds to the romance. The sea houses (two levels with balconies on both levels)are located on the hillside, with a tram available for those who prefer the leisurely way up. For those interested in testing their fitness, the stairs can do just that! The sea houses are well maintained, some offer airconditioning, some don't but the tropical breeze really made it unnecessary. There is a small pool nestled among the tropical plantings on the hillside. Steel drum music drifts over the water in the evening, not obtrusive but makes you feel like you are indeed in the Caribbean, The staff always went out of their way to help with requests and were willing to try and arrange matches with others interested in specific activities, if desired. There are excellent restaurants located around the Bay with our particular favorite being the Rainforest Cafe, romantic, with wonderful food and wine. Enjoy watching the sunset from the hillside or from one of the waterfront watering holes, then as evening falls head to the RainForest and watch the yachts sailing into the Bay with the lights on their masts twinkling along with the stars overhead. How can you beat that!
Dislikes: Can't think of anything! Just remember you are in the Caribbean and supposed to be relaxing so the pace is slower than at home.
