It's a small, but very comfortable hotel. The servise is nice. There's always someone speaking English at the reception. At my arrival it was pleasant and very handy to find tea, coffee, sugar, some cookies, water and electronic kettle.
Anyway, in camparison with other similar hotels around, this was the best option!
We had booked 2 rooms for a family of five, but when we arrived they only had four beds. The man at the counter said the hotel was renovating, so they could not help us. Later he told us we had to talk to the manager, and not give in, "becaurse this happens all the time, they are not honest here". The next day the manager came but could not help us, we said that if we were only getting four beds, then we should only pay for four beds, but he told us we had to pay for five! In the end he managed to put an extra bed into one of the rooms, but then we couldn't open the bathroom door properly.
The breakfast was poor, only jam and butter, not worth the price.
The staff were not helpful, and not serviceminded.
There was a waterboiler at the rooms but no coffey or tea. Soap in the bathrooms only the first day. Very small staircases, with building debree from the floors they were renovating, it was very narrow.
Would never stay there again!!!
The Nord Hotel is a cute little hotel just steps from "Gare du Nord" main train station in Paris. The staff was wonderfully friendly and always greeted us when coming in the door, no matter what time of day or night. The staff also recommended great things to do like "L'Open Tour," an open top bus ride with 4 different lines bringing guests to every tourist attraction one could imagine in paris. The rooms were great too. Everything was very clean and the beds were comfortable. Also, I loved the fact that I could open our windows and take in the streets below with all the music and atmosphere but when I wanted I could close the windows and have COMPLETE silence. Breakfast was good too for 6,50 euros. The Nord Hotel provided a perfect 4 night stay for me and my family and I recommend it without a doubt.
