Description

The Locanda is situated on the first floor, the piano nobile, of a historic 16th century Venetian palazzo, in an area of considerable artistic and cultural interest. It lies only a short distance from Rialto and is near the rail and road terminals, in the very heart of Venice, in a characteristic area, alive with craftsmens shops, trattorias and taverns. In 2001 the Locanda SantAgostin was lovingly and tastefully restored. Its bedrooms are elegantly furnished with period furniture and objets dart and fitted with the most modern facilities for the most discerning of guests. The Locanda is easily reachable by vaporetto or on foot, from both rail and road terminal. It is so well situated that it gives the guests the chance of quick movement to any part of Venice.

Very good place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/14/08
Locanda Sant' Agostin is a charming place to stay in Venice. I booked directly with the hotel website. The location is perfect being a slightly quieter area with good restaurants but easy walking distance to Rialto, markets and other sights. The room was beautifully furnished & spotlessly clean. The breakfast was great, staff were friendly and helpful, making for a most pleasent stay. I’m looking forward to our next trip to Venice and I will without a doubt stay at the Locanda Sant' Agostin

Charming little hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/14/08
Excellent location for main Venice attractions. The Hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff were so willing to help us with restaurants and getting around Venice. Breakfast was also included and it was provided in a spacious room and it was very good I will certainly use the hotel again.

Do NOT stay here!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/21/07
This hotel seemed to good to be true online - and it was. First of all their website states that they are handicapped accessible but they are not. There is a steep staircase with no elevator. The rooms were not clean. The bedspread had a bloodstain on it. The air conditioning didn't work which would have been ok if we could have left the window open but our room was over a reggae bar and the cigarette smoke wafted in our window. Even with the window closed the music boomed in our room. Some of the staff were nice but not very helpful when it came to the airconditioning. The room was stuffy and hot with the windows closed. We complained twice to no avail. The bathroom was tiny with the sink stuffed in the corner at an angle. Bathroom was nominally clean. Our telephone cord was cut thus no phone. They did give us another one when we complained. The worst was when we went to check out early. They screamed at us that we had to pay for the whole reservation. It is stated on their website as a policy. Probably they've had this problem before of people wanting to check out early. We ended up paying $1,000 for the three nights we didn't stay there and they were very nasty about it. I would NOT reccommend this hotel to anyone who wants to sleep. The area was nice enough and not touristy.

Loved it!

Service was great, room was amazing. Only complaint would be that it wasn't close to many of the sights, but then again, that can also be a good thing.
