Hotel Eikamper Hohe, Odenthal

I lived here for seven months in 2000. It was run by Willie and Andrea - a delightful couple. It's located on a hilltop (hence the "Hohe") about 5 miles NE of Bergisch Gladbach in a residential community. Many of the 22 rooms have a view of the rolling farmland and forests to the west - all the way to Leverkusen. The rooms are small, as is the norm in German inns, but clean and well maintained. The breakfast buffet is large, varied, delicious and includes the best coffee I've ever had anywhere! If you want to enjoy the countryside, there is a hiking trail leading down the hill and into the woods. I goes for miles and miles. If you want to relax, they have a shaded deck from which to watch the evening sunset. I loved the place.
