As another reviewer said, the hotel is beautiful and well situated. But, the buffet is really 'first come can have all, later come, get the rest'. And the time is approaching dinning close time, the servers start to rush up to clean all the tables, make guest stressed.
I expect serious cures, but every activity is just 15 minutes, including group gym, which is not serious. Massage only for the back, 15 minutes only.
Karlovy Vary is really beautiful, but, the goods in the shops are more expensive than anywhere, no taste, and out of date.
One experience is enough!
If you are coming to this hotel for the physical therapry and what not, it would do the job. My wife and I had a package which includes hotel and message type of therapy.
You are seen by a physician to determine your health before assigning a program for you.
The "therapy" starts in the morning, and so does the breakfast, so you could miss either one. They slot you for 30 minutes of activities but the actual time is more to 15-20 minutes. I felt short-changed. They have 3 meals for you at the hotel, a scaled back buffet type of thing, but once a dish runs out, they do not replinish it! I felt I was in a commuunist regime the way they ran things. We did not have heat in our room (in November), and we reported the problem on Friday, and got it fixed on Monday!!
The people in the town (especially the shop keepers) are some of the most unfriendly I have ever seen in my travel life. You can take the bus to the town which is about 10km away; the bus is cheap and fast. The hotel is in a pretty spot in the mountains, but over 1 hour drive from Prague's airport. We had a driver to pick us back from the hotel to the airport (which we arranged for separetely from Prague), and we see a minivan showing up instead of a taxi. The driver seemd to be running a darn race, and was going so fast on a single lane road, what a scary experience!
