Stayed for 3 days from 18/2/12 - 21/2/12. I had some issues with the room as its not what I expected. Got in contact with the front desk and without hesitations , attended my concerns.. They upgraded my room from deluxe to premium without any extra cost.. Thanks to Desiree , April and the rest of staff located at the front desk.. Overall, it was a great experience staying in the " royal mandaya hotel ". To and from airport transfer were excellent, food are of reasonable price and pool side bar was great... Hoping to go back next year and stay longer to explore Davao city!!!!!! Hoping for special or promo rates when we go back next year....
Me and my boyfriend had a great time at royal mandaya hotel in davao... I love the food at the Kamayo Cafe. the staff are so kind and helpful. Our room were located at 8th floor, and i love the view...perfect location...Certainly will come back here next summer vacation. can't wait...
it was my second time to visit Davao City.. second time around to choose Royal Mandaya Hotel as my hotel to check-in. i was surprised since there are lots of changes.. i was amazed to there restaurant... new year.. new design.. modern design restaurant Kamayo Cafe... it was great compare to the previous one.. importantly, the food there was really delicious... i love the shrimps...amazing taste.. and the room was good.. affordable and comfortable... where could find such kind of hotel like this?? only here in Davao... i love davao.. peacefull city.. i'll surely go back to this hotel next time... thanks for the best experienced ever...
Just visited Davao recently. Stayed at the Royal Mandaya hotel. i was totally amazed. A lot of Changes. They have seriously leveled-up to new heights! I was surprised at the efficiency of the staff, not to mention how courteous and accommodating they were. They never missed a beat. Kamayo Cafe was change into a new ambiance. My room was always clean and i always had fresh towels, even though i did not ask for them. All the comforts of home and more!!!
This was so amazing. I just had to write about it. I am from Davao City and everybody knows that the royal mandaya hotel sucks, but they proved me WRONG. My office just had a seminar there and they have seriously improved on a lot of levels. The food was great, service was excellent and the staff was just accommodating. They definitely blew me away.
i stayed their yesterday the stuff are not friendly, dont give the service that most people expected. Some facilities are very dirty and untidy. Low class in service. P.S if you want to stay a hotel here in Davao City, the best recommended hotel is Marco Polo or Grand Regal.
Me and my bf stayed their yesterday and the hotel is really embarrassing for me to bring my american BF their.. i thought they would give a nice service to us since it is intended to be a nice hotel in davao..
-the telephone cannot make outside calls..
-the bathroom doorknob was broken
-some of the facilities are not functioning
-the food is not appropriate for the breakfast!
-the pool is not nice ( really not!)
-the hotel "key" card always lock us out wen we went out and back cannot enter the room even if we didnt check-out (the other guest complains for it too!)
-shuttle was reserve at 4:30 and we check out 4:10 for it but we are in their till 5pm and no shuttle comes in..
-the rooms are not intended to appreciate.. not good! very bad!
-AND LASTLY I HATE THE FRONT DESK STAFF THEY ARE SHITS!!! they make my bf very mad by not treating him nicely wen we stay in their hotel! they not nice to the guest doesn't shows respect and are not friendly! never!

The staff were very nice, food was good and location is great. The only thing is that the carpets needs to be upgraded, it has a lot of stains. We had a problem with our room when we checked in but they fix it right away. Overall the stay was great. They just need to upgrade the carpets and the curtains.
Royal Mandaya sucks! The front desk people are discourteous. Grace fought with Aida in front of me. They have very poor telephone skills. I complained over the phone, and Rachel would cut me from time to time to insist on her point! How unprofessional! Things look grand from outside, but the grand appearance is all that is grand! I wonder how I was able to return there monthly since August 2008! I regret to death! The waiters would engage in loud conversations with each other during the breakfast! A lot of bad experiences! Only Aida is professional in the team! All the rest need to repeat college!
