We stayed in Amman for a total of 2 months. During our visit we stayed at several hotels and our experience at Marmara was great. We got one of their renovated rooms that was very clean and modern. This was the only hotel that we stayed at Amman that had free wireless internet even in their restaurant and cafe. I gave them 4 stars because the reception wasn't fluent in English, but otherwise everything was perfect.
I visit Jordan at least twice a year and I must say that for what you pay this is by far the best value for the money. Where else does the hotel owner welcome you to their hotel. The breakfast is usually included and is excellent. The service and Cleanliness could use improvement when compared to our level of expectation in the U.S, but its more than acceptable in Amman unless you are staying at the four seasons and paying ten times as much. I've stayed at other hotels in Amman and I always come back to Marmara for the Value and the location.
hope this helps
It's not enough that it's equiped with the oldest equipments, appliances and furniture, but it also had to be smelly, filthy and dirty!!!
As soon as you enter the hotel, the smell of diesel mixed with God-Knows-What strikes you. You enter an elevator, which you pray that gets you safe and sound to the right floor. You finally get to your room. You try to open its door with 3 keys attached to a huge, strangely awful key-chain.
Finally, the door is open, you enter. The bathroom is on your right. You can find in it some shampoo bottles, soaps and lufas left by previous guests. In other words, you can never find a bathroom hotel dirtier than this.
You decide to sleep. You are already so disgusted and you're definitly not ready to the next surprise: dirty and smelly sheets...
Should I continue or is that enough?
I visited Jordan many times, This hotel seems to be the best value for the money. Location is perfect for business. The staff was very welcoming but I think they lacked some experience.
The hotel restaurant is does not seem busy but the food was very good.
Hope this review helps you decide.
