not coming back
By ,
First of all be aware of all the additional taxes when you book a room. We were here after Christmas through Jan 1. The room, ocean front was ok buy not up to over $600 value. The room cleaning was not done until late or they even forgat to do it. First night, the towels were missing ; the food was so so and pretty expensive especially the breakfast. For NY even we asked if we need a reservation, we ended up standing up and looking at the people, mostly outsiders, having their own bottle service tables. The hotel not very.considered to its guests that also paid a lot of money to enjoy its facility . Overall la concha renaissance is not really up to the standard of a renaissance hotel. Not coming back.

Great hotel!
By ,
We arrived on Sept.4th and stayed until the 10th. Service was good. Not so helpful at the front desk but service through out the hotel was nice. The food is over priced, like most hotels. But very tasty! My husband and I aren't big drinkers so we cant really judge on the drinks! which run about 12-15 dollars a drink! I had a sangria was very fruity not enough alcohol but very refreshing. The main pool near the hottubs were both amazing. The view from the upstairs pool is very nice. U can hang out in the water while still seeing whats going on in the hotel. The beach front pool (not the adult pool) is where we spent majority of the time. Wasnt as clean as the other pools. Mainly because its the closest to the beach so everyone kind of jumps in it off the sand. But its very convenient. My husband was constently in the ocean so I appreciated the fact that I could watch him in the water from the pool area. Puerto Rican sun is amazing! We had all beautiful sunny 90 degree weather days other then a little thunder shower for 20 mins that quickly went away..The lobby is very clean, very nice the bar area is very well kept. If we had the money we honestly would've had all our meals at the hotel. We had dinner at the italian restaurant one night and loved it. Small portions but delicious food. The same italin restaurant has an amazing breakfast every morn from 630 to 11 am.I dont recomment room service. Its way over priced and theres a fee for it as well. The hotel is very south beachy. Nothing's perfect. But my husband and I had all these plans to explore and walk around and get to know Puerto rico and we didnt get to do ny of that. Simply because all the facilities in the hotel are so amazing that you just cant walk away from it. Everything you need is right there. Sun,drinks,Good food, nice bed, beach and pool. Great location for a relaxing vacation. and dont let other reviews fool you. The area the hotel is located in isnt the cleanest. Undergoing major change. From the reviews I thought I would arrive at a place like south beach, miami. But all the downtown area means are a couple spanish restaurants and a couple stores. Theres a walgreens, dunkin donuts and starbucks located minutes from the hotel! But other then that, unless ur willing to spend 20 bucks on a cab ride anywhere in the city or to old san juan..theres not much entertaining. But what else do u need when ur in an amazing resort. I recommend this hotel! have fun!

Power went out twice for over 5 hours
By ,
The power in my room went out twice during my stay and was out 5-7 hours. We received no compensation, not a free meal/drink in one of their 5 restaurants or even a waiver of the $15 per day resort fee. We ended up spending more money because our rooms were too hot to stay in. A room was being worked on nearby ours and we were awakened by the singing, whistling, laughing, and shouting of carpenters and custodians at 7 am every morning. Front desk wasn't sympathetic to that either.

The hotal was so beutiful it was amazing. When we arrived i roomwasnt ready but that was ok because we hadnt ate anything. It took about 1 hour but the upgraded our room to a suite which turned out to be just as beautiful as the hotel. The staff there was wonderful very helpful very friendly. My husband and I was astonished to see so many people going out of there way to make our trip one to remeber. We will be returining soon and yes La Concha is the hotel we will be staying at when we return.

Extraordinary!!!!!
By ,
Our stay was 5 days long; I have previously stayed at other nice hotels in Miami (Ritz @ Key Biscayne) and Las Vegas (Aria), La Concha is the same level. The rooms were beautifully decorated with breath taking ocean views, 4 gorgeous well maintained pools (there is an adults only pool on the east side of the hotel, I recommend it), and access to the beach to enjoy the beauty of the Atlantic Ocean. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the concierge made excellent recommendations for local restaurants for dinner and they make excellent “Mojitos” at the pool bar. The only downside was the lack of staff for room service, because of this, our room didn’t get clean until 8pm one of the days we were there (they ran out of some toiletries too). In reality this was a minor distraction, you hardly spent any time in your room, most of the day you either spent it at the beach, the pool and/or strolling around the Old San Juan that is just a 15 minute taxi ride from the hotel. The fact is that this became my favorite hotel to stay in the Condado area and I'm looking forward for the next stay.

AMAZING!!!
By ,
I absolutely LOVED this hotel!!! The next time I go to San Juan, I am staying here! The customer service is above and beyond! Although it is a bit overpriced with the menu, everything else was awesome! The pool was sparkling, I loved the private entrance to the beach and the pool that was right on the beach. This hotel....no words. I had the most amazing time in Puerto Rico and cannot WAIT to go back!

First Class!!
By ,
The La Concha is a 1st class property. Upon pulling up to the entrance, you know that you are someplace special. The hotel lobby is very "South Beach'ish" with beautiful colors and fabrics along with a vibrant casino that features a great sandwich shop which stays open late. The hotel has several restaurants on property and even a sushi bar! Once you go through the lobby you are greeted by four (4) gorgeous pools that are all well cared for. There are also two (2) hot tubs to relax and enjoy. The pool areas have these great seating areas that are almost like canopy beds.....after about 5 minutes on one you are out like a light! NOW TO THE ROOM!! The room is fantasticly delicious! The only property that rivals this would be the New Eden Roc in Miami. The room had beautiful furniture with a view of the ocean that was to die for. The ENTIRE window opened so you could actually hear the ocean! The only drawback to opening the window was that the air automatically shuts off when you do. The room also had a nice chase lounge in it. The entire hotel is wifi for free so bring your laptop. There was also a small refrigerator and stove in our room. This property is the best. I will definitely return!

Would go back again in a heartbeat!
By ,
The hotel and the scenery surrounding it are absolutely gorgeous. The pool area is a lush, palm tree-filled oasis where we sat by the pool to soak up the sun and enjoyed delicious drinks from the bar and Solera, the poolside restaurant. Two hot tubs, a fountain-filled upper and lower pool with lights that change colors at night and comfortable pool side lounge chairs are what kept me poolside for most of my stay. There are areas with comfortable couches that are tucked away here and there among the palms for enjoying drinks at night or chatting with friends anytime. The beach side of the hotel is no less spectactular, with a small infinity pool and plenty of lounge chairs and wait staff to serve you if you choose to sit out there. The ocean by the hotel is majestic but not the best place to go swimming; it's ok to dip your feet in or maybe stay close to the beach but as far as snorkeling or wading in deeper goes, I would not recommend it. It's much better for surfing. The lobby is spectactular; open air with marble floors and comfortable chairs and couches for groups to sit and enjoy the Latin-inspired music playing in the background. Our rooms were very clean and modern looking, with a view of the ocean and sliding doors that opened up most of the room. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They can be a little bit slow at times. We arrived after 3:00 pm on a Friday and our room was not ready yet. Friends of ours arrived for check-in around the same time on Sunday, and when they arrived at their room they found that they had been given a room that had not been cleaned after the last occupants had checked out. But these things were minor, in my opinion, and are just worth noting in case one expects an instant response or extremely fast service all the time. The bottom line is that I would go back there to stay again tomorrow if given the chance and I absolutely loved it there.
