you get what you pay for
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/11/10
My wife and I just got back after a weeks stay at the casa marina beach/reef. Our biggest complaint was that there was nowhere that you could sit after the evening meal and have a relaxing drink if the weather was rainy which it was almost all of our week there. Also there was nothing to stop the winds from blowing through the resturants so it was sometimes quite uncomfortable sitting with no protection and trying to eat. The food wasn't the best but it wasn't that bad, we didn't go hungry. The staff was great, the rooms clean and the resort was very nice. Due to the bad weather we were unable to go in the water on the beach but the 2 pools were great. I would not recommend this resort to any of my friends but to my enemies a definate yes lol. We will not be going back to this hotel!

They're Right, You Do Get What You Pay For!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/27/09
If you're looking for a 5-star hotel that you'll pay an arm and leg for, go elsewhere. If you’re looking for a great resort that accommodates your needs and then some, stay at the Casa Marina. For the price this resort was awesome!!! The staff was there every time we needed them. The rooms were always clean and pleasant. The foods in the restaurants were unbelievable!!! I was totally impressed with the variety and how well it was prepared. Location, location…, location!!! It was centrally located and easy access to local beaches, attractions and shopping. I am looking forward to coming back to the Casa Marina again.

You get what you pay for - Very Basic Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/16/09
It is a very basic hotel on the inside. I did not like that there was no fridge in each room and that you get a room card that turns on the electricity when you enter the room. Two bottles of water supplied because you can not drink the tap water -ekk. For those in need of a fridge for medications - make sure you get an extra card to keep the electricity running. They don't tell you that when they bring a fridge in your room. (They just tell you that there is no guarantee you will get a fridge). The rooms need upgrading, along with the beach towels guests receive everyday. They were well worn out and smelled even after they were washed. The service desk/ reception needs a 101 in providing good service for all inclusive clients. The food servers were very limited in understanding the English language. The snacks you buy at the store there is expensive when you do the math, so you are better off bringing your own snacks. The food is bland at best with little variety - same food all week. Bring instant coffee with you if you like a stronger blend!! The exterior of the hotel is beautiful. I liked the neatness to it - Very well groomed. The 3 pools are wonderful. If they applied heat to the "hot tubs" outside, it would definately be a big plus for this hotel. The day trips we took on the outback safari and paradise island (snorkling) made the trip. The bartenders were very pleasant and upbeat. Too bad they closed at 10-11pm each night!

The service was simply bad!! Sheets on the beds were dirty. Pubic hair found under the bed cover. I am sure to never go there and would ask you to not even think about going.
